Morning all

ok so last night after feeling bad for having sex twice i went to sleep and woke up through the night (due to noisy neighbour!!) and had a light only what i can describe as a stabbing pain - but nothing majorly painful! just uncomfortable

i was worried, i slept on my right side, but i cant help wondering what this was?!

i dont have it this morning - i feel oki? bit sickly and tired as normal, has anyone else had this pain?

i also had the streching feeling on my right side through the week - so worried - am 6weeks and i feel like this is a really worrying time for me, i need to get to 10 weeks at least to be past the stage i was at before when i M/C, i really want to get to 12 weeks to.
but doesnt every woman who is pregnant.

i googled 'light stabbing pain in left side when 6weeks pregnant' and it came up with all sorts - inc etopic pregnancy - not what you want to read really.

I'm now 10 weeks and have been getting stabbing pains on either side up until I was about 8 wks gone. I had them in my previous pregnancies too. Try not to worry hun, my midwife explained to me that its your uterus and ligaments stretching.

Pain from ectopic is usually severe and one sided.

Try relaxing in a warm bath, that always seemed to help me when I was getting them. I still get them now in my right side if I stand up quickly. It's very more than likely just stretching ligaments.

aww thankyou so much for your reply - i did think that it is just all the change going on - the stretching and what not.
is defo both sides, but isnt severe pain-not as bad as some period pains i used to get!
i see my midwife tomoro so will also mention it to her - i am going to write a list of my worries down to tell her!!

its mainly at night i get these streching feelings!! i have noticed a pattern!
i didnt get this with my first pregnancy so hoping it is a good thing. :-k

will try not to worry - my mam said to just be happy i am experiencing these different feelings and to think yea it is coz i am pregnant.

I had this too all day yesterday so I called my friend who is 20 weeks pregnant and she said she had it too so I think its normal.
Ive been soooo worried too.
As long its not severe I would try not to worry (I should also take my own advice! lol)

phew that does reassure me that your friend is 20weeks and also had the same pains - my friend is just past her 12week mark and she said she had the pains to - and what felt like period pains all th time - she also had some bleeding - but thinks this was due to stress.

but she is totally fine, and also had a m/c previously.

we should all make a pact to chill and just relax and be happy and enjoy our pregnancies as it is an amazing thing to be pregnant. it feels like a miracle to me

Me too - It took 15 months and fertility treatment to get here so its hard not to worry.
Im sorry for your previously loss also :-(
What we need is a few glasses of wine to relax but we cant! xx

A couple weeks ago I could've swore I was ectopic. I had all the symptoms. Turns out it was just gas *blush*. I know it's easier said than done, but just relax... I don't think this worrying will ever stop, even when this baby is grown and gone, lol!

Don't worry, stabbing/stretching at the begginning of pregnancy is normal, it's just the baby growing, getting comfy and stretching your muscles.

I had cramps & stretching feelings yesterday and there was a thread on here about it (probably on page 2) where lots of ladies were/have experienced this too so I felt assured that it's fine.

As long as the pain is not severe and you're not bleeding then I don't think it's anything to worry about :flower:

its normal

and stay away from google youll drive your self mad with worry

As long as it's not just one side you're fine. I always get those pains. They are from your round ligaments, which hold your uterus in place. As your pregnancy progresses they will get more frequent, especially if you stand up fast. Sometimes they are so bad they will take your breath away so stand up slowly!
