My little 9 month old girl has been constantly sick from about 9pm last night. She was fine all day then she woke up crying at 9pm, projectile vomited everywhere and this carried on every half hour. Her little stomach got empty so it turned to just froth and bile. She's so tired and lifeless too, not her usual bubbly self.

Once it got to 3am we phoned the out of hours doctors at the hospital and got an appointment. She was checked over and seemed ok. Not too dehydrated, no rashes or stiffness etc. The doctor just said it is probably a gastro virus or infection so to monitor her and try up her fluids. If she's stil being sick or worsens We'v to go bank.

She's still being sick after trying to nurse and can't keep water down. She's so exhausted and tired. She's being sick no quite so frequently, maybe every hour or two.

Has anyone any experience of this? What can I do to help her? She isn't feeding or drinking water much at all. She also has a temperature. Can I give calpol or is that a bad idea on an empty stomach? I want to call my GP up now but we were told to wait if it worsens or prolonges. Can anyone shed any light on how long the sickness lasted for their LO?

Any advice or experiences to share would be very helpful xx

We had this last week with the bigger twin. Dioralyte every half hour until the bug passed ( it's taken 7 days for her to egg back to normal). Avoid milk as it's hard to digest with an upset tummy. Lots of cuddles too! Good luck xx

Thanks got your reply. It's awful isn't it. She was last sick at 2pm, however sicked up loads. She's asleep right now but I'm so worried she wakes up really sick again or starts being sick in her sleep :(

How long did it take your LO to stop being sick?

She was awful for the first 3 days, then it slowed down. I had to sleep with her in my pillow as both of my twins have been resucitated in the past having choked. I was terrified she would be sick in her sleep. I proper her up quite a bit. We were out of towels and sheets, and she was so limp. By day 5 however she was a lot better although she did vomit yesterday ( day 6) a lot but she is bright and cheery. It's sad to see them like that.
