... hiccups!! She's drowsy but obviously can't sleep with the hiccups. I tried feeding her some more (she just ate) hoping it would help but she's not hungry. Patted her back but to no avail. What can I do to get rid of them?

Not a lot I'm afraid! Robyn gets terrible hiccups at times, but she can fall asleep with them. The hiccups stop as soon as she drops off.

Ugh I suffer from this with my lo all the time! Thankfully they don't seem to stop him falling asleep and as soon as he gets drowsy they seem to stop but they def make napping harder. Unfortunately I've found it's just a waiting game till they disappear. Very annoying!

I wish LO could just fall asleep like your LOs... Very annoying indeed! :hissy:

Oh he couldn't until about a fortnight ago. I had many days of rocking him like a crazy person trying to get him asleep and stop hiccuping!!

Water....I always tried to feed my LO with milk to no avail but I read about giving them plain water and they go every time x

Thanks, Jennbear! I haven't given her any water yet but will give it a try next time. Anything to make them stop!

Water works for my LO as well. Often he'll get hiccups from drinking water from his sippy but if i give it to him when he's got hiccups it seems to get rid of them...

Nicky- how weird... When did you first give your LO water?

Oh, I hate when this happens! My girls get hiccups almost every time they eat. Worse than keeping them awake, we have to hold them upright or else a bit of milk comes back up with each hiccup. :nope:

I think it was when he was 5-6 months. I didn't whilst he was just BF but i think i started water shortly after i introduced solids...

Not much. What helps us is giving something to suck on. If not a bottle, then a soother for sure and they are gone almost instantly. If that doesn't work, then just waiting it out is all that's left.
