 Okay so i know this is eww but i was wondering about Lochia? I've heard some horror stories about it and i'm terrified :nope:
I asked my mum and she said hers lasted for 10 weeks and my OH's mum said she had to wore TWO massive jumbo pads! I've always wondered if it is as bad as people say it is, how do they manage a newborn baby at the same time  also what if you've been cut etc.
What was it like for you teen mommys? And is anyone else worried and anxious?

Lochia is all the old, dead, blood you bleed after giving birth and it lasts usually up to 6 weeks but can stop before or after. It really varies by each person. I recommend overnight pads, I found those worked well. I bled for 9 weeks but after 6 weeks, it was pretty light. It's really not that bad. :hugs:

It's nothing to be scared of! :hugs: Just like a very very heavy period. Buy yourself like 4-5 packs of maternity pads :) Though you'll probs end up needing more x

Well, after you have your LO, you still have contractions as your uterus has to contract back to its original size. They are definitely not bad! I never noticed it, tbh! I felt a twinge here and there but nothing awful! You will feel contractions if you breast feed though! I never had cramps during my period so I'm not exactly sure though!

You can get pains similar to period pains, which is your uterus contacting back (Ithink!) but I didn't get them, not everyone does x

It's not too bad, it's quite heavy at the beginning so you'll be changing your pad a fair amount right at the beginning, I actually leaked through mine a couple of hours after having my daughter. But it's basically like a really long, heavy, period. Mine lasted for 6 weeks (first child) and 5 weeks (second child).

I got pains, like bad period pains, at the beginning of each too.

It doesn't hinder you looking after your child, don't worry :)

I'm still bleeding now at 10 weeks, although it got considerably lighter after 4 weeks. Don't be worried, some people hardly bleed at all.
In hospital I managed to bleed through two massive maternity pads and the one on the bed  It was a bit embarrassing when I stood up since OH's family was there
But yeah, it's not too bad :haha:

I'm worried about that bit :/ I didnt even think about it...

I bled for 5 weeks, stopped for a few days, then got my period (cramps, lower backache and all!). I just used a pad, it was really heavy for the first few days after birth, then it wasn't too bad.

Me n my mum were just talking about it!
I took some sanitary towels into her room and said so you want them cause I dont need them..
And she was like "Ahaha you will!"..
She said it isnt bad though.. She leaked a few times but nothing major..
I've heard it can last up to 6 weeks but I dont know how accurate that is :/
xx

I am rly worried about this as well bc I am on the bigger side and have had issues with my period pretty much since I have gotten it. I am worried that I will do nothing but leak bc without a tampon thats what happens. And I know you can not were tampons until dr. says. For my periods I wear a tampon and a thin pad bc I leak a lot and its usually rly heavy sry for TMI but its true. So I can only imagine bleeding for weeks and only being able to use pads its going to be a mess I know it. I can't stand to bleed at all. I feel so gross. I usually take 2 showers a day when on my period so its going to be torture for me after birth.

I'm exactly the same with my period. It's gonna feel awful not being able to use a tampon. =/

Not bad. Much lighter than a period. Cramps were an issue for the first...4 days, maybe? But even those didn't come close to how miserable periods are. Still bleeding but I only had him 2 weeks ago so no surprises there.

It's not too bad. Mine was like a heavier, less painfull period. The first few days were awful though, I leaked alot, I had to get them to change the sheets for me. I went to change the pad alot, which is awkward when you have a baby and don't want to leave them/wake them!

Once I was home I just made sure i changed reguarly, had paracetamol etc.
