Hi,

Looking for some inspiration!
I'm from the UK. For the last 4 years we have gone to Florida for our yearly family holiday, disney, universal, normal tourist things. I also went to New York with OH last year which I LOVED.

We like florida because it has everything, the weather, beach, theme parks etc.
There's usually 4 adults and my 6 year old, looking at going in May.

I really wanted to go somewhere different this year but I also love the US. I know there's so much more to explore there, could anyone give some recommendations?

One day I would love to get a car and explore lots of different states but that's many years off when my son has grown up I think!

Thanks in advance 😊

My LO and I went to California this year and loved it  It was hot, we saw dolphins in the Pacific Ocean and there was so much to do / see both in terms of natural beauty and tourist attractions.

We managed to explore a lot in the two weeks we went but my highlights were San Diego (I'd love to go back here), the Laguna / Newport / Huntington beach area, Beverly Hills, Disney Adventure and San Francisco. There's a lot more I'd want to see if we are lucky enough to visit again!

xx

I really want to go to PortAventura!

I'm current looking at Canada. Somewhere ive always wanted to go but cant decide on which season to go or what area!

California is definitely on my list...I didn't know if it would be suitable for a little one but sounds like you had a great time!
Canada again I would love but no idea where to even start it's so huge!
Never heard of PortAventura..
Off to Google that one!

I live in Canada :hi:

It doesn't have a place comparable to Florida for the things you appreciate about Florida. But if you're looking for a place that has a lot to do - I would fly to Toronto, Ontario. Theres a theme park there called Canada's Wonderland, and then all the sight-seeing of Toronto. It's also a 1-2 hour bus trip to Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is a busy place, there are casinos, haunted houses, lots of shops and things like that. You should also visit Niagara on the Lake - quaint village with lots of cute shops and retaurants. The Niagara area is also famous for its wineries. 2-3 hours north of Toronto is cottage country, lots of beautiful lakes. You could camp, or rent a cottage and spend time boating, swimming, canoeing, etc.

For a more relaxed, laid back vacation full of nature - I'd recommend looking into Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, or Banff and Jasper in Alberta.

Sorry to go all tour-guide on everyone :haha:

Well if you're looking for interesting things to do in the US how about going to see the Grand Canyon?

My husband and I love road trips. For our 30th we flew to Texas and drove around Houston, Austin, San Antonio, the Hill Country and Dallas over 10 days. It was INCREDIBLE, I haven’t been the same since I freaking loved Texas I prefer it to Florida!! Flights are so cheap to the US at the moment, other trips on our list: New Orleans-Nashville-St Louis-Chicago, also East Coast and West Coast. We didn’t take the kids though, they wouldn’t have liked the driving and we did some bar hopping
