I'm looking for a name equivalent to Benjamin but for a girl.

I will try and explain, me and hubby have 2 boys ending with IE, so we need to try and stay away from those type of names, the problem being though, we find these kind of names cute.
However I feel Benjamin is cute but doesn't end IE, so there must be a Girls name that is cute but in the same way as Benjamin. Hope this makes sense:wacko:

Names that are out are.

Isabel (family member)
Ava " " "
Mathilda good friends little girl.

We would also like something that isn't overly popular, so that at school a million kids with same name will turn around. Oh and because of a one syllable we need more than one syllable for it to work. We want a lot I know lol.

Any ideas wise ones lol

well my names Kristina?
I have a cousin called Lindsay, or there's
rebecca, hannah, melissa, cassandra, denise, julia, bella, anna, suzzane, elissa, eliza, jade, ummmm

Madeline
Caitlin

These are some of my favourites:

A girl's name that, in my opinion, is equivalent to Benjamin: Catherine

Additional ideas:

Brianna, Reagan, Teagan, Michelle, Olivia, Brooke, Bria, Brielle, Sophia, Priscilla, Morgan, Taylor, Kayla, Gianna, Eleanor, Alyssa, Rylan, Abigail, Victoria, Emma, Hannah, Leah, Allison

I love the name Clarissa.

Thanks everyone.
I do like Madeleine and also its my godmothers name. However hubby has vetoed this one, says always reminds him off the little girl who went missing and feels sad. ( Hope that comes across ok)
Catharine I find is quite a grown up name. I'm looking for something that can be cute and then be more grown up if needed. Sorry I am a pain I know.

Does anyone like Martha?

martha isnt to my personal taste, but if it is to yours then great :D
I love the name Cassandra, (its after the greek goddess who had the all seeing eye and is thought to represent powerful femininity) AND you could always shorten in to Cassie while shes little, or sandy, or cass xxx

Samantha (my name!!!)
Serena
Sedona (Sidona)

Megan/Meaghann/Meghann

If it wasn't for the IE thing I'd suggest Maisie LOL

Charlotte
Harriet
Georgina
Dorothea
Lisbeth
Ophelia
Freya
Amelia (VERY cute!)
Abigail
Elspeth

And I love Martha :)

Hubby says martha isnt girly enough, :nope: I think I give up lol

How about Tamsin? It can be spelt different ways so Tamzyn, Tamsyn??

My friend has a daughter called Tamzyn, who is 11yrs old, and it suits her perfectly.

I think because of the ending 'in' It sounds familiar to Benjiman.

HTH.

I think Amelia and Tamsin sound cute as others have suggested. Also (although maybe a bit old fashioned) how about Mabel?

Bridgett, Caroline, Elizabeth, Tabitha, Gretchen???

I know two Martha's & they both hate their name -- one goes by Marty & the other goes by Mart.

i think french names can sound quite cute and then quite grown up as well. aurora? anais?

others off my ridiculously long list that might suit you........erm..
calina?
celina/celie/celia?
darcy - definitely cute but yet grown up as well
coralie - cory, cora
cassie?
marlena, marley
or something with -issa on the end - larissa, clarissa, marissa. i know of a girl who was rissy or rissa when she was younger then used her full name of larissa as she got older.

xxxx

Thanks everyone, some lovely names.

Think we are going to go with (so far anyway)

If we have a girl Elsa Eve
for a boy Patrick David (Paddy or Patch for a nn)

what do you all think?
