When I had Alex last year I used a carrier type (one from argos and one from Tomy) but they were often awkward to put on. I loved wearing her though.

Whats the best, easiest out there (ideally for newborns if possible). And is it crazy to think i could get away with not buying a double buggy for a while and babywear instead?

I've just bought a moby wrap, I was a bit skeptical at first coz it looks really awkward to put on, but I tried it out on my 9 week old nephew and it was soo easy, even the first time! you can use them in lots of different positions too!

Second the Moby wrap for a newborn
I got mine too late for Alex as he was too heavy when i bought it but i kept it to use for the next one.

Just had a nosey on their website, I like the tattoo style one!! oooh!!!

I'd probably say buckled mei tais are the easiest out there and they last until LO is a toddler so they are good value. I have a Babyhawk mei tai that you tie rather than buckle and I plan to use it from birth if we have another baby. Other people prefer wrap type carriers for newborns though, and don't feel like mei tais are secure enough. Maybe I'm just brave/daft or maybe it's because I'm so used to using it that I'm now confident enough.

I'd definitely say wearing a newborn and having an older child in a buggy is do-able. If I have another baby, I plan to wear the newborn in the Babyhawk and keep my first LO in her buggy until she is old enough to walk most of the time and/or use a buggy board. You'd think it would be harder to push a buggy and carry another baby, but having the buggy too does mean that you don't need to carry a changing bag, which you do if you're just carrying one baby.

I used a connecta carrier with Ollie, from when he was a couple of weeks old. I'd had a c section, and still found it really comfy, and easy to use.
I have an Ergo now, which I also love, but for a newborn you have to buy a special insert for.

Buggies are definitely handy for carrying stuff. My one complaint when using a carrier is that there's no basket, or handles to hook things over!!

I do think I might need to get a double, but if I can do without for as long as poss, its worth a try!

Loved my moby wrap from when Dylan was little

Would think its a good idea babywearing and single buggying - have seen some women double babywearing before but can imagine it is tricky when you need to do something :haha:

I find my ring sling mega easy to put on. It was great when A was newborn as i could feed him at the same time and now i hip carry him. The mai tei took me a bit of practice but that is now easy too!

I have a babyhawk and wear my youngest while my eldest is in the pushchair. I never found the stretchy wraps to be supportive enough as they stretch during wear, where as the mei tai was comfy and simple to use even with a newborn (2weeks old on her first trip out in it)

Oh I do have a double buggy but have used it once and won't be bothering again, more hassle than it's worth

i LOVED, LOVED, LOVED my ring sling! so easy
but then i made a mei tai- and that was even easier!

I'd say moby for a newborn. Connectas are worth a go they are easy to get on and off due to being buckles.
