i have just used my cbfm for the first month, been ttc for 9 months and nothing yet.

i got my peak reading on cd 17, and then af arrived on day 27..... is this too close ??? should i be worried ?

A luteal phase defect is typically considered if you LP is less than 10 days. It all depends on when you ovulated after receiving your peak fertility OPK. You could have ovulated that same day and ended up with a 10 day LP. If you happened to ovulate within 24-48 of the positive opk then perhaps your LP is a little short. There are a few things you can try to increase it:

-Natural progesterone cream
-Vitamin B6 ( I believe)
-Temping to know for sure how long your LP is.

Hope this helps :)

I would start temping to make sure you know when you are ovulating to confirm how long your luteal phase is and than if it is less than 10 days talk to your doctor. Depending on where you are and how old you are some doctors recommend going and talking to a doctor if you haven't conceived after 6 months but some say 1 year but I would temp to make sure you are armed with as many answers at possible from what you can do at home.
