My Hubby and I are ttc.

His first SA shows good count (223 million) and motility (65%) and very low morphology (2%). Most boards I am finding are leaving me very concerned and thinking we will never conceive. He has his second test in a few weeks.

The way the nurse told me was awful. All she said was things don't look good, but when I asked her for more info she told me she isn't an RE and cant give me any sort of numbers, %'s, advice.

So now we are playing the waiting game. I have been having issues ovulating regularly, that is why we were having the test done, I had never guessed it would be him too. Of course this month I got a positive ovulation test.

Any success stories with similar SA results out there would be so nice to hear.

We literally signed a contract for our dream home (made for 2 kids) 1 day before they gave me the SA results; results that they had the week prior but called to tell me that the dr's notes were illegible and would have to call me back (wtf why would they even call to tell me they had the results then??)

I am completely lost right now. I want nothing more than to get a bfp

I haven't got any success stories regarding a bfp unfortunately but my OH first SA the morphology was 1% we were devastated! After a cocktail of vitamins and a complete lifestyle change he got his morphology from 1% to 7% and 9% on his latest 2 which were about 3 months after the 1st results. Don't take the 1st test to heart, get plenty of vitamins down him, healthy lifestyle and you should see a big improvement. His motility and count are excellent too so there's defo still lots of hope. Good luck x

My husband has poor morphology and motility. His urologist recommended an herbal supplement called ProXeed that can be ordered either directly through their website or on Amazon. Amazon is a lot cheaper. We're going on our second month and if we're not pregnant after 6 months of using ProXeed, he goes back in for another SA. Hubby quit smoking January 1st and i'm hoping this will help his little soldiers a lot! He also takes a daily multi vitamin and vitamin C. Hoping that I can post a success story after our journey!

Have you tried any natural or herbal remedies to help with the morphology ?

Hi there, I just wanted to tell you that I got my BFP over the weekend, and my husband's SA in August showed 3% normal sperm, and motility was low too I think 40% or something. He has been taking only a multi-vitamin, not sure how much that helped really, haha. My obgyn suggested that he see a urologist, but we'd kind of been putting it off since I wasn't ovulating and that was the main problem. I really think it's so easy to get caught up in the numbers, but we need to remember it's only a snapshot of what's going on, and things can change so quickly (unless it's a case of 0 sperm or something), because so many factors affect an SA. Don't give up honey. Focus on getting you ovulating regularly, and everything else will fall into place, that's what happened with us. I also used conceive plus (a sperm friendly lubricant) and took Mucinex 3x a day the day before, day of, and day after ov...and I think these things helped his swimmers get where they needed to be. It can happen, good luck!!! :hugs:

Congratulations on your BFP!! How awesome! Thanks for giving us hope!

Thank you. :)

I'm glad to have given you hope, I know how hopeless it can all seem at times. Just remember that people were getting pregnant long before SA's were ever done, and there were probably all kinds of "issues" that were never known about. Sometimes having more info isn't a good thing. :winkwink:

I agree. Sometimes I wish we didn't know, but then im happy to know too cause I know there's things we can do to improve his soldiers. I know our time is coming. Im definitely more relaxed now that I know and I don't stress as much.

Hi all,

While TTC my husband was also told he has low morphology (2%) which obviously concerned us considering we had other things going against us; my cycle is all over the shop, I'm in my 30's and my husband is in his 40's. After TTC for about 6 months I conceived and gave birth in Aug last year. So it can happen!! We're about to try conceiving again, allowing a little extra time for everything to fall into place. We were lucky that it only took us 6 months to conceive but I remember how it felt every month to realise that nothing had happened, and I feel for couples who are left trying month after month. Keep positive - low morphology isn't the end of the baby-making world.

My husbands count and motility were about the same as yours and he had 4% morph on the first and 3% on his second after taking 15 different vitamins a day for 3 months (which shows that do nothing). Then right around our first visit to the FS I concieved and we found out when the medication they gave me to bring on a cycle didn't bring one on and the bloodwork I had showed I was pregnant. Now I'm almost 11 weeks! His morph wasn't the problem, it was prob my pcos.

That's exciting and wonderful news! I'm hopeful that our time is coming soon. I have this gut feeling that we're going to get pregnant around June :)

Dh's morphology was at 2% one test and 4% the next. It took four tries with me getting the HCG trigger and Femara but I am 5 weeks away from meeting my son. It can happen!

I would like to post a success story for low morphology.

Earlier this year, DH took an at-home sperm count test. It came back positive for low sperm count, so he got very paranoid and went to a urologist for a full test.

While his count was decent (36M per ML/86M total), and motility was good (65%), his morphology came back low at 3%. However, Dr was not worried since the other counts were fine.

DH cut back on alcohol and started wearing loose clothes. He also ordered some FertilAid pills on Amazon.

Boom, we were able to get a BFP two months later. We are expecting a girl in March.

I read a lot of morphology threads on this site during that dark time, and they helped get us through it. So if your other counts are fine, I wouldn't worry about morphology.
