My LO is turning into a right grump grump as she is so tired all day long cause she wont sleep in the day!!
The night time is fine she goes 4 hrs between each feed and is down by 10pm like clockwork!
But she resistes sleep so much and just wont let herself go down to snooze she just cries and cries and then wont take all her bottle as the sucking makes her tireed so she sleeps half way thru the bottle then wakes up when go to put her down.
Ive tried everything but nothing works!!
What should I do??? She lacking so much sleep and is becming so unhappy daily coz shes so over tired!

We have had this problem the last few days, I spoke to my hv about it today and she thinks it could be wind related and that he sleeps at night through sheer exhaustion. She recommended trying 1 dose of infacol before each feed. In saying that, he has now been asleep since 11.30, and I'm trying to wake him for his next feed! Typical!

EVA has infacol before each feed so in my case I don't think it's that but thank u

bella's being the same the last couple of days, she's only just now fallen asleep after whinging all day because she's overtired, & has fallen asleep on me, but keeps stretching & waking up!
where dou try & put her to sleep? i have to go into a dark room with her & that's the only way she'll sleep in the day. white noise (e.g. doing the hoovering works if i'm ok with her falling asleep on me - my carpets have never been so clean!).
awake again now...
xx

U can follow the 2 hrs rule (Babies cant stay awake for more than 2 hrs between naps). Once she shows some cues of being tired, take her to a dark room with no distraction, talk to her in a soothing way, then offer her a bottle. If she takes a dummy, u can offer her her dummy after 1.5 hrs frm being awake to make her settle at 1st then move her to place with less distraction. Do u swaddle her? I used to swaddle Omar leaving his arms out for naptime. If she wakes up shortly after sleeping, pat gently on her tummy, & offer her a dummy to help her settle. Napping in her cot/moses also helps. xx

I had same problem with Carmen until I realised that babies don't go to sleep you have to put them to sleep. I usually take her to bedroom put her into bed and she used to have good old moan about it more tired she was the louder she moaned. I used to turn her to her side and rub her back in circular motion and make hussing noise or humming noise. And there were days when she didn't go to sleep at all. You just have to go with a flow. Now she is 5 months and she has a long 2hr nap and shorter 30min nap during day and she goes to sleep at 7PM and is happy to sleep till about 7AM.

Hun infacol made Jake worse :(
I took him off it and he's been so much better without it!xx

Thanks hun I'm gradually weaning her off it but ran out yesterday and couldn't get any so she didn't have any all day and she had painful wind in the evening and screamed for a while.
It might just be coincidence I don't know.
She doesn't have the infacol at night only at her 6pm and 10pm feeds.
In face the last few days since posting this she's slept and hour or so in the day and she's gradually getting better.
She's 8 wks on ties so am hoping she will get better as she gets older.
Thanks for ur help ladies xxx

If she's finding sucking too tiring, would you try a faster teat? That worked wonders for us.
