Hi all im in my first trimester and very happy to be expecting. The problem is i have pcos and the hospital is finging it hard to date me! im up now for my 4th scan the las one was last tuesday and they dated me as 6weeks 2days however the consultant that saw me wed two weeks before found my babies heart beat which from what i have read is impossible as i would have only been 4weeks meaning that the nurse was wrong last week but it has me worried about my babies development :( please has any1 else had this happen to them :(:nope:

Don't have experience in this, but didn't want to read and run.

Don't worry. Appreciate the free scans while you can! Also, nothing wrong with being further along than you thought. Just means you don't have to wait as long to see baba. Chin up. :hugs:

I can tell you that they are guessing right now for me too. If you see in my signature, I went for a CD21 blood test and they didn't think I ovulated. I may have, I may not have at that time. Obviously I ovulated sometime! lol
I've already had one scan that they were just guessing 6 weeks when going by the dr charts of LMP, i would have been something like 7w3d.
I wouldn't worry much about them not knowing EXACTLY right now. They measure the baby at every ultrasound and re-date you. Just make sure you are taking your vitamins and taking care of yourself. No matter what, you have a little bean inside of you - CONGRATS!!!

I reckon one is doing dates from your LMP and one is doing the actual age of the baby from conception. Dates from LMP is the standard method. some docs like to confuse you with alternative systems.
do you have an embryo measurement or a picture of the 6+2 scan and I can tell you if it was the same as mine at that time?
Anyway, you can't see anything at 4 weeks.

Obviously with pcos it is hard to know when you ovulated and LMP might not be a good guide. But the size of the embryo is a very reliable guide.
The most important thing is that it grows the right amount between one scan and the next!
