I'm 18 weeks pregnant and I wanted this so much, I love my bump, I love seeingit get bigger, but, I miss my skinny body too, I know it sounds stupid because in a few months I'll be skinny again and I've only had a bump for the last 4 months but I don't know why I feel this way. I'm a uk size 10 and usually very happy and confident with my body, but on saturday I had to take my 6 year old to a pool party and I was so embarrassed and shy to take my clothes off in front of my daughter's friend's parents. I had to stand in my bathing suit with my trousers on until everyone had gotten into the pool! :/ Does anyone else feel this way?

I tried to talk to my friends about it and they were saying things like why are you embarrassed about your bump? and you dont look fat you're pregnant, and they are right but it made me feel worse!

I'm right there with you petal! The only thing that keeps me sane is that my OH thinks I'm sex on legs !

The only thing I can say is pamper yourself, dress up and love yourself! You'll get your body back after pregnancy! ;)

Thank you!! I'm glad I'm not alone I was beginning to feel selfish for feeling that way xx

I love my belly as well, the thing is though every now and then I myself feel like when I look in the mirror I look fat and not pregnant and I get real sad, especially at the end of the day sometimes it looks that I'm all bloat . . . In about 4 more weeks ill have a more defined belly so I won't get too upset anymore :) I went through the same thing with my first pregnancy around this time.

and ALL YOU LADIES I am sure you look beautiful and not fat <3

You're definitely not alone. I found myself feeling a bit jealous of my SIL when I saw her Sunday because she is so slim and it made me miss my body before pregnancy.

Ugh I fell the same! im 24 weeks and I feel gross. Im also short 5'1 so that doesn't help. My stomach is hard and round, but it seems like my whole middle is round with arms and legs sticking out! I have also really struggled and watched my weight my whole life so it is hard to see myself getting bigger and bigger every day. Just keep in mind in a few months you will get your body back. I plan to get a really good stroller for walking / running and doing a mom and baby dance class and swimming and the weather will be getting nice then so lots of other outdoor activities too!

im with ya too. i love seeing my belly and knowing that she is growing strong and healthy, but at the same time, every time i start to undress and look in a mirror, i get so down. yep, im feeling super unsexy right now too...

I feel your pain. I'm a short lady who's 24 weeks too and I was mortified when I caught sight of myself in a shop window yesterday lunch time.

I honestly look like a beach ball with arms and legs! The scary thing is that being my second baby I'm larger than I was at this point with my first and I seem to be waddling already

I really envy these tall, slim women who's bumps always look so neat, even when they're much later on.

I definitely don't feel sexy but I love being pregnant in lots of other ways so I try to focus on these and if I'm feeling down on how I look I just start thinking about my plans to get in shape afterwards and picture myself in the future slim, fit and with two beautiful children :cloud9: x

Ooh and to the OP I definitely can identify with how you feel about swimming.

We've recently taken our LO swimming with our friends who also have a LO of the same age. We got changed in cubicles but our friends got ready before us and were in the pool when we came out of the changing room.

So not only did my friend see me walk across the poolside to get in the pool but so did her OH - cringe!!
