I was told today my AMH levels are 13.50 and as im only 24 this is very low

Im feeling very lost at the moment. I dont know what to do!! My doctors office is closed so I cant ring them for advice.

Has anybody had an experience of this. I want to find out what are my chances on conceiving now

Sorry hun, i didn't want to read and run. If you don't mind me asking, what is AMH ?

Its a blood test they do to check you egg levels

Ahh, i'm so sorry. I've no experience in this, but i hope you get the answers you need! :hugs:

Hi hon,

I do not have experience of having low AMH levels as I've never tested my AMH. Given your age 13.50 is slightly on the low side but definitely not impossible. In fact you have every chance to conceive naturally ( if your partners sperm count is good too). It might take you a little bit longer but it can definitely happen.
There are women I have read about who have lower AMH levels (much lower) AND who are older than you, who went on to conceive naturally. I'm sure there are some ladies on this forum who may reassure you.
Remember you only need one good eggie and one good Spermie

Also, some women take CoQ10 supplement to improve egg quality :flower:

Good luck hon and don't worry

Hi Oliv

I had my AMH done in January 2012 whilst seeing and FS. I had read about a celebrity having it and that it was some indication of fertility. To be honest, I wasn't sure exactly what it was. He did a blood test there and then, sent it to Glasgow and told me to expect the results by post in a few weeks.

When I got the results they were 3.03 on the UK scale and it said "evaluation by age is classed as low". I was devastated (I was 37 at the time) and resigned myself to IVF. A couple of months later a surprise natural :bfp: which sadly ended in M/C

I have done a lot of research on AMH and asked my current FS about it and it seems to give an idea on the remaining egg supply and is carried out when a woman is thinking about IVF or before IVF takes place to give the FS and idea of how many eggs they have to work with.

I understand AMH DOES NOT tell us anything about quality and if you have a low AMH and ovulate every month you are in with a chance.

Hope this helps

GL

Thanks ladies, we have been trying for over a year now so decided to see if anything was wrong and this is what we found out.

Sweetie, it's not that low nd it's basically only a number. All it's telling u is that u wont go through menopause in ur 50's more like late 40's with ur numbers, but let's face it u properly wont want to b pregnant nd having babies in ur late 40's. Ask ur specialist for DHEA nd this helps with ur egg quality nd also with ur AMH numbers. Ur numbers dnt mean that u cnt get pregnant.

U said u have been trying for a year, has ur DH had a S/A?

Good luck Xxx
