Hi everyone,

Feeling depressed as my AMH level came back today as 4.62 & my FSH is 12.3.

My FS has explained that this means I had low ovarian reserves & if we did IVF I might not respond as well as other women i.e. only producing 4-6 eggs:cry: Why is there so much injustice when ttc? It's so not fair.

I'm 37 & have a wonderful 17 year old daughter (so am blessed to have one child) but would love to have one more at least & have actively been ttc #2 for 4 years. I'm on my 2nd cycle of IUI this month & can't help wondering if it will be pointless due to my results? The FS kept going on about IVF, how they would be able to make better decisions etc..The thing is I never said I want to go down the IVF route.

I just feel the hosptial is after money as we are self funded patients on a low income, how is it possible to save money for IVF as well as everyday living expenses? (bills, food, rent, pets). Feel deflated:cry::wacko:

:hugs:

I can't address the numbers, b/c the levels in the states are different.
My AMH is on the low end and my FSH is on the high end.

I'm doing IUI now as well. It doesn't have a very good success rate though, so I've been trying to keep myself level-headed with the quoted conception rate of 15-20%.

I hope it works for you and you don't need IVF. :hugs:

Dont give up Lexus15, my AMH was 0.3 and i conceived 2 beautiful boys (2 seperate pregnancies) naturally!!! Theres always hope.

That's fantastic news Danni2kids, PMA is what is needed!

:hugs:

Ha.

If that scale is of any real significance (University of Minnesota Physicians is our clinic), then I am in the 50+ ballpark, too. I guess it's a good thing that all my other hormones are fine and that I'm about to turn 34, not 64...

Is that the same place you use?
if so- have you been happy with them??

I was just notified today my AMH is LOW 0.26

Oops, sorry I took so long to respond. I sometimes forget to check some of the threads.

It's probably the same place. I'll send you a private message with more details.

Oops, looks like I can't just yet.

This is at Fairview, where I go. Where in Minnesota are you? And what is your story?

I just got back my AMH, .28
Terribly low.
FSH 6.7, but Estradiol high at 56, so the FSH is falsely low most likely.
I'm only 34, husband has very low sperm count/motility/morphology, so IVF is our only option. costly!

I sympathize with you.

We seem to be in a similar, if not the same boat, MrsWoolf.

Same age, same horrendous AMH.

I'm about to start my first IVF cycle mid January, on BCP now, microdose Lupron protocol. We shall see how I respond! Fingers crossed for a decent amount of mature eggs.

Jazavac - what type of advice came along with DOR diagnosis?

Please don't be too downhearted. My amh was just over 3. It's just an indication of you likely response to Stimms. With ivf it really is quality over quantity. As long as you get one or two embryos to put back that's perfect!

Ps- I'm now pregnant with twins. I got 3 eggs in that cycle and 2 fertilised, both were put back in and resulted with my pregnancy. I hope that gives you hope.

xxx

What is DOR?

No advice for us, for now, other than trying to conceive naturally. We'll be seeing our RE again in a month or so. I highly doubt I got pregnant this cycle eihter, but I won't know for the next week-ish.
