Has anyone else been suffering from a low potassium issue? I've been hospitalized 2 times for low potassium. My level was 2.4 and 2.7 when I was hospitalized. I was curious of other people's experiences with low potassium? I've rarely heard of potassium that keeps declining like mine :(.

Low potassium (hypokalemia) refers to a lower than normal level of potassium in your bloodstream. Potassium is a chemical (electrolyte) that is critical to the proper functioning of nerve and muscles cells, particularly heart muscle cells.

Hi ashlee, i worked in a hospital and saw several people with chronic hypokalaemia, and those you had to be on potassium supplements all the time. It was usually people on medications that dropped their potasium, people with kidney disease, and those that were malnourished. I dont have much experience with pregnant ladies and hypokalaemia though so cant be much help. Hope your K+ stops dropping!

Thank you! We are all hoping it stops post pregnancy. We can't do much to diagnose the issue, but just keep my potassium up.
