Low Progesterone Insights?

Doctor's office just called me to say that my progesterone was low (only slightly), so I need to start taking supplements every night until 12 weeks. I guess I just don't really understand what this means and why it would be low this time but not my last pregnancy. It makes me nervous. Also, the nurse who called to talk to me about it the one I don't really like- I have such a hard time understanding her on the phone, and everything she says is said with a doom and gloom voice. I remember last pregnancy she would tell me something and make it sound so bad where the doctor would get on the phone and totally not sound worried at all. So maybe it was just the way she delivered it, but it does make me nervous since I don't understand what it means.
