Low sperm count- results. Help!

My husbands numbers were lowered by the hot tub at the gym... After no hot tubs and no baths, his numbers are going up. I have a diagram that makes things clearer to me- ill find it and post it. It sounds like IUI is your best option- then all the best swimmers get put right by the egg making a low count much less of a handicap. They can do successful IUI with as little as 1 million good swimmers.

This made it so much clearer for me as to why we need so many million and why IUI makes it possible to get pregnant without such high numbers.

First i want to thank all of you wonderful ladies for your helpful ideas and support it has been great!

My fiancé has been forwarded on to a Urologist, and we also had our first meeting with a Fertility Specialist yesterday. She was absolutely amazing and basically made me feel like we would be just fine. She has sent me for some blood tests on my hormones (although she seems to think I am fine), and also wants DF to have another Semen Analysis.

She suggested to us that if the semen analysis was the same again this time, that IUI possible may not work for us, as his sperm count was low / motility wasn't the best either. So therefore, we may have to look to IVF with ICSI.

She suggested that we try IUI for 3 months (cycles) and if they are not successful then move on to IVF. I have been researching statistics on IUI success rates with low sperm count and they don't seem that great - but it sure is nice to know that we aren't crazy, and there is a reason for it taking this long to fall pregnant!

She also told me because of my young age we have a super good chance that IVF will work the first, if not second time as my eggs should be in tip top shape :)

We are also possibly being posted away to a country town mid next year and she said "Well - let's get you pregnant as soon as possible then!" which made us both so happy.

But that is what has been happening! We are still 'trying' naturally, but i honestly am not worried about it. We will just have to try IUI and see how we go - i will make sure i post to vent / keep anyone who is interested updated:)

:hugs:
