urgh - coming down with a cold and wondered if i could drink lucozade whilst bf'ing? i know it has caffeine in it so avoided it whilst pregnant but not sure now...?

Its fine, the caffeine content in lucozade is negligible compared to most 'energy' drinks; even if it wasn't caffeine isn't nearly as bad when BF as when pregnant-studies have shown that you'd have to drink 7+ cups of strong coffee (much much stronger than lucozade) for even a tiny amount of caffeine to come through into your milk and even then it is only a problem if it affects your baby making them hyper etc xx

i had a bottle of lucozade yesterday, the big bottles! drank it in the space of about an hour lol! iv been ill for ages and paracetomol wasnt helping as i was too tired to get over it! so down it all went! i warm it in the microwave too to make it warming for my tum and it eases sore throats etc i drank it all and felt much better within a few hours and today i only have a snuffle left. noticed no change in LO, she still slept last night lol! xxx

sorry but warm lucozade doesn't appeal, as they use it in this area for the glucose tolerance test in pregnancy-they seem to enjoy leaving it overnight to go flat and warm (leave it next to the radiator, in a manky looking jug!) and just seeing the looks on the mums faces lol xx

lol its the same here too, they use manky lucozade unless you take your own, i dint have to go so was spared the taste, but my friend had to go for the test and she hated the lucozade drink but she loves it warm in the microwave lol!
im a big fan of hot fizzy drinks as my mum used to give them to me when i had my millions of sore throats as a child, the hot liquid was easier to swallow and the sugar always made me feel better lol! hot lemonade is my fave! lol! it has to be hot tho, not just warm xxx

Our local hospital won't let us bring our own lucozade, if they had I would have brought in the lemon one xx

oh thats not fair! we got the option to take our own, to have theirs or have glucose powdr mixed with milk/fruit squash. i didnt go for the test so didnt have to choose lol! x
