Finley is 5 months on sunday & we have been weaning since 4 months (down to recommendations from Docs because of his reflux) and he's been happily on 2 meals of pureed food for about 3 weeks I was just wondering Can i start giving him lumpier food now & how do I go about doing it?? Do I just not blend it as much (sounds a bit obvious now i've written it) and is it ok to do that at 5 months???
Because the recommendation is 6 months i'm confused on when to start him on to the next stage of weaning because all the info is from 6 months

Any advice would be great thank you x

The faster you give lumps the beter just dnt blend it mash it. lucas has never had puree runny food as i started him with blw then changed to spoon feeding so he could eat lumps well. The 6 months thing on jars and outher things are just there as gide lines lucas has stage 3 jars when he has them for a month now he dosnt get them much thow as i do not like the jar stuff

I dont use jars either x i suppose i'm just worried incase he chokes :-(

If you mash it up there wnt be lumps but it will be thinker and a bit lumpy but not lumps as such babys are very good at not chokeing as they have a gag reflex in the middle of the tong and if it is to tuck or lumpy they will spit it out.

I did some courgette yesterday which I did a bit lumpier & he loved it x a few bits came back out but most of it was fine & today was even better x I have done his apple a bit lumpier too which he was fine with x
So I think we're going to be ok

Thanks for the advice xx x
