I work in operating theatres and yes, accidents do happen. But thankfully very few and far between.

What upsets me about your post is that nobody had the decency to explain the situation to you. If I was the scrub nurse, even if it wasn't my fault, I would be ensuring you had been given a full and frank explanation. It is your right. As you say, anaesthetics are scary enough as it is. You are totally in our hands. And to not give you a full explanation as to what happened, the surgeon/ nurse/ whoever caused the injury, is being negligent in my eyes. You now have a totally awful memory of what should have been a routine procedure.

I am so, so sorry for what you are going through. I hope you get some answers and have a full recovery soon :hugs:
