hello ladies

i am going to make my own wrap but wanted to know what material is best to use (i have decided i dont want it to stretch) but i am worried if i get the wrong material it wont be strong enough. also how long should they be i am a size 18 and i assume your size makes a difference

Difficult to say. SPOC carriers (simple piece of cloth) wont be as supportive as proper woven wraps as the way the fabric is woven makes a big difference to how it will wrap and carry. You may find that a wrap which is made from normal dress fabric will be a bit 'diggy' at the shoulders and not comfortable for you.

Your size makes a difference in so far as you will need a longer wrap to do some of the carries. A size 7 (5.2m) would probably be the size to go for.

My suggestion would be to try and get a pre-loved (broken in, used wraps are the best to buy anyway as they are softer and wrap nicer) wrap cheaply as you will be paying around the same for over 5m of fabric as you would for a proper woven wrap. Have a look at the FSOT forum on Natural Mamas as there are some lovely wraps on there and lots of knowledgeable mamas :flower:
