I'm still hoping to be able to mainly do BLW but at the moment DH & I are still a bit erratic with how healthy we are eating (mostly out of convenience). So, I've decided that I want a few different purees on standby in the freezer.

Its gonna be (separately) carrot, sweet potato, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, apple

I'll steam the carrot, broccoli, cauli, peas
I'll bake the sweet potato

Do I need to cook the apple? How? Can I steam it?

Do I add milk to any of these prior to freezing?

Do I add milk after defrosting and before re-heating?

Or is there no need to add milk?

Personally, I don't add milk. As for the apple, you can steam it or cook it by putting just enough water to cover the apples.

I steam all my vegetables and fruits.

Add the milk after you have defrosted and re-heated it. You will find some foods won't need milk such as the apples. But others like swede, carrots etc can do with some milk sometimes.

If you are having trouble pureeing it then just add some boiled water to the veg. I tend to do this to the consistency that I want to feed DD at cause OH has a think about putting milk into her food (he's a little crazy :haha:)

I have made all that you are going too and its very easy. Also Pear is great too and my LO prefers that to apple. I put milk (I used my expressed breast milk) in if needed after it had been frozen and reheated.

Butternut squash is also a firm favourite and I baked it when doing the sweet potato.

My Pea puree made LO windy and upset his tummy at night.
