Has anyone tried this? My HV has suggested making the teat hole bigger using a needle as lo is on thicker milk and gaviscon for reflux but the teat keeps getting blocked (he is on largest teat size and we've tried the vari-flow but they kept splitting). If you have tried this how did you go about it and did it work ok?

The first time we had to do it, we were out, so we didn't have a needle. OH had to bite the tip to make the holes bigger of all of our teats, and they actually worked okay. Don't prick separate holes though, make the existing hole bigger. I know you already said that, but in case someone else is reading this and assume the wrong thing :dohh:

no sorry, i was gunna suggest vari flow, but i see you have already tried! My Lo is on comfort and gaviscon vari flow works for us xxx

Do you use the tommee tippee ones? We had six and I think they pretty much all ended up splitting! I had read not to use the brush to clean because of the problem with splitting so I was really careful but they still split :growlmad:

ive never used these. what ive done with the variflow is to actually slice the teat with a sharp knife to make a clean cut. we use comfort milk and baby porridge for reflux. i found that cutting the teat made it last a little bit longer.
