Which do you prefer or most comfortable with ? I have had both , but my tomboy doctor has a way of making you feel relaxed regardless of what she is telling you :)

I don't feel comfortable with either while getting exams but I definitely prefer a female obgyn, although I've heard alot of people say male ones are nicer and more understanding?

I've had both... More females the OB I have now is the first male actually and I much prefer him to any of the female doctors I've had in the past. He's very kind and gentle and muh more patient than what I've seen before with the others.

To be honest Im not fussed. Have found the males to be very good though. To be honest I dont feel in the least bit bothered about them going "down there", its their job after all. :)

With my DD my obgyn was male and I LOVED him. With new baby I have female (first app with her on tues) I dont mind either way, but my male obgyn's were a 100 times more understanding.

Male! Every female I have gone through has been too rough. I <3 my OB! he is awesome.

I'm really not bothered either way! I've seen a male gynae before and I'd also happily have a male midwife. As long as they know what they are doing I don't mind :D

Am with you on that

I have some friends that say so as well

You know, when I was younger I insisted on seeing a female gyno and boy did I regret it! I will save you the details but it was my WORST experience with a doctor! She was terrible! Then I switched to a male gyno and he is the best of the best. I feel extremely blessed to have such a wonderful doctor and should have started seeing him a lot sooner :)

I have a male OB. He is SO nice, kind, gentle, and understanding! I have been to female OB's. One was not nice, one was sweet...so I guess it really depends on the person and not on their gender.

Well my ob is female along with all of the others in the practice, but my RE was male... so I'm used to both.

At the clinic where I go all the staff are females as well as in the hospital I believe only the anestheseoligist(sorry if I spelt it wrong) are male..my ob is great

I have had both over the years, and I like the male that is my current OBGYN the best of all. I feel that he takes more time, is more tender and compassionate than the females that I have been to. But I think it probably all depends on the doc.

Glad you found a better one :)

I had a midwife for 1/2 of my pregnancy last time, and a male ob for the last half. I wish to god I hadn't switched. I had very bad birth because of him and he always rushed me at appointments. :( I don't feel he really cared about me or my baby at all. I am very happy that I am switching bad to my midwife with this pregnancy. I was a fool for moving to him just because I moved.

I have a male ob/gyn and don't feel bothered at all with it. I think I'd be just as comfortable with a femal ob/gyn. Btw, he's amazing!!!
