hope iv put this in the right place, didnt know where to put it?

we have had our m&p skate pram for 8 months now and it has decided to break. it wont stay up, it collapses all the time which is really dangerous. there are other faults which are less of a problem but still annoying.

its been in to them before but they just fob us off and say we are doing it wrong but we are definately not doing it wrong.

does anyone know what mamas and papas are like with faulty goods. do they just take them and repair them? will we have a chance to get a refund? (asking cause i really dont like the pram anymore and would like a new one)
when they take them to repair will they provide another pram while ours is away?

any advice would be great, thanks x

ive no idea ...email them and get answers before u take it bk x

I think they only have to fix it or replace it with the same pram if unfixable. I would doubt they would give u a new one now. if you dont get any joy at the store write or email head office and u might have better luck. If you do think it is dangerous then contact trading standards for advice.

Hello,
We have the joolz, which broke after eight weeks. My mum was lifting it up a kerb with lo in and the handle came off in her hand!!!! And the carrycot hood came off too! We took it back to the shop and luckily saw the manager who straight away swapped it for a new one, he was really good and apologetic. I do think we were lucky to deal with him tho cos when he had gone the snotty sales girl said, you know you shouldn't put bags on the handle it weakens the frame (we didn't!) and if you have to bring it back again it'll have to be sent away you won't get another new one!!!!! (like we broke it on purpose!) Any way I was under the impression that they are obliged to refund it if it's not fit for the purpose intended! So defo take it back and don't be fobbed off!
Good luck!
ps sorry it's so long winded, but i think for the cost my M & P pushchair was a bit of a let down !

thanks, we were looking at the joolz before we got the skate. its annoyed me because they are really expensive and it shouldnt be collapsing when we push it. im gonna take it back in tomorrow with the receipt and see what they say.

Good luck. I defo wouldn't reccommend the joolz to anyone :nope:, just don't love it... it's bulky, awkward, won't fit in the car (admit should of checked before lol!) and the frame is really wobbly, but it cost so much have to put up with it! Any way they say that you can use them till lo is about three don't they? So really shouldn't be breaking after 8 mths! Stand firm
x x x

if its only 8 months old it will be under the manufacturers guarentee so they HAVE to at least fix it

I have a ziko which has the same problem, collapses whilst I'm pushing Lili and she gets folded up in it!! Its so dangerous. I contacted them and 3 emails later they finally got in touch to say that without a receipt (I can't find it anywhere!) they won't fix it even though it is less than 6 months old. I paid cash too so can't even use a bank statement. I really hope you do better than I do! I still have a broken pushchair in my utility. Just stand your ground and insist they fix it hun

I thought M&P offer a 1yr warranty from the due date of your LO, I know I was offered at the time of purchase. They are also supposed to loan you another pushchair while yours is being repaired, at least that was one of the selling points they told us when we were buying ours.

Your post has me concerned as I also have the Skate, and I think I threw out the receipt a few weeks ago!!!

Let us know how you get on.

I have shopped loads with M&P and must say their customer services were excellent when I bought a faulty cot. I'd say if your item has broken and isn't fit for purpose then they have to fix or replace. How long is their guarantee on prams/pushchairs?

we took it back today, spoke to a really nice girl who has sent it for repair and we have got another skate replacement as ours is due in store on xmas eve so she said it may be beg of jan when we get it back.

glad we spoke to her as we have been in previously and they tried to say we hadnt been doing it right?!

they didnt ask for our receipt as they hold all details of purchases on the computer as each time we have bought something they take our postcode and it is stored. she just asked for our postcode and the purchase of the pram came up.
