Hiya,

I am now feeling the need to buy some new clothes, as mine are starting to feel a bit tight :D

Can anyone recommend good shops that sell nice maternity clothes?
And how does maternity sizing work?

I work as a nanny, so work clothes wise it can just be jeans and a top, however I would like nice pretty clothes for weekends and going out.

Thanks

Asda home living - very nice and very reasonable as you'll only be wearing them a few months. Just try on your normal size and the size below- you may be pelasantly surprised (I was!) x

I so far have only needed maternity trousers for work as they were getting uncomfortably tight.
I got mine from dorothy perkins and they are adjustable ones. They are really good and so comfy. Im normally a size 10 but i got them in a size 8 and they are still quite baggy.
Im not in the need for tops yet, I just wear leggings outside of work now.
But Dorothy Perkins did have some nice summery tops in there
xx

topshop have a good maternity section, as do asos.com.

i nipped into river island (i actually hate that shop) because i spotted they had a maternity section and was very pleasantly surprised! i bought a lovely floaty cardigan that covers up my currently bloated bump. can't wait to show off a proper bump, but at the moment i just look fat!!

xx

I need more jeans than tops, I looked in a couple of shops, and I just didnt like any of the stuff.

I havent got a asda near me :( I will check out dotty p's though :D and hopefully come home on sat with lots of new clothes.

Do you know if next does their maternity clothes in their sale? as someone told me their sale starts on sat. Might be able to pick baby up some bargins too

I am very exicited about getting adjustable waitbands :D does that make me a little sad?! lol

Ooo H&M do a maternity section too, and i think their clothes arent badly priced either.
Not sure about Next to be honest, i dont see why not though
xx

Oooo h&m!! I shall be looking in at the one in Brighton on Sat, Im not sure if it has a maternity section though........

Our river Island is rubbish.................. doesnt have a lot in, and i didnt really want to order online, just incase i didnt like it, didnt fit etc

We have 2 H&M's and they both have maternity sections, their not big sections though.

I love river island but they dont have a maternity section in ours, they do online though. But yeah i wouldnt wanna order online either
xx

I got some really nice tops and a dress form Debenhams red herring range yesterday, all really reasonable priced, the Next stores (all 3) near me don't have the maternity range in... Peacocks had some nice stuff in a while back and New look is supposed to be good for jeans....
:D

I think Dorothy Perkins and New look are nice places to get maternity clothes as well as
Marks and Spencer but i haven't actually bought any and don't think i will at all because they are so expensive and i'm budgetting for bubba!! I have just bought clothes in bigger sizes that are flowy and stetchy so they last through pregnancy but that's just me!!

Next have the maternity stuff in the sales...not sure about instore but ive seen it online.

I like topshop jeans at the moment. They are expensie at 40.00 a pair, but they are much better than NEXT and DP ive found.

New Look are quite cheap but I find the stuff is badly fitting and tends to shrink in the wash...might just be me?? I dunno.

Next do have stuff in the sales but you are better to go to the shop and try it on - my maternity jeans are a size 10 and I'm a 14 usually xx

I've got some New Look bits and been really good so far, only trousers and few tops but not been washed many times.

Mothercare also sell maternity stuff which is quite nice. Lots of places do ranges now, just depends what shops you have close by!

As you wont need them for long Id recommend Peacocks. They have a small section as do New Look. I wouldnt waste my money buying Mothercare Maternity clothing they are way too overpriced. A pair of work trousers here were £35 and but I bought a lovely pair for £22 and they have a huge waistband which is a lot more supportive and practical than some Ive seen. Look for the sale signs too. I was amazed to see benetton also do a maternity range and picked up a skirt of £5 (was £35) in their sale!

Next Online - Fab Clothes!!! I bought various things on Saturday and they arrived on Monday and every thing fits beautifully!! I'm so much happier now my clothes are comfortable! :happydance:

(In fact, I don't think I want to wear anything else but - maternity clothes are soooooo comfy!! te he)

i bough some fab black jeans from M&S and a very comfy tracksuit from Next (its dark grey) which Ive been wearing to yoga and slobbing about the house and im so glad i bought it. i also found i can buy the usual size 10 although had to go to size 12 on top due to ever growing bust!! ive made sure anything i but will last til the end so at least get my moneys worth. i popped into H&M and most things were same price as next and like but quality was poor. might get some tunics for summer but may not have to get maternity ones could get away with buying a size up or something.. good luck

Next on line have maternity jeans in the sale, I bought some but unfortunately they were too big and they didnt have the size below. However will be looking on Sat, I didnt know they were having one, normally the one day sales are not that great and it will be July time for the main one, I think then I will get some baby bits. x

ive heard new look are good and next! but im not quite ready for maternity wer but always good 2kno where they are!

I've been buying stuff on ebay. I can't afford to spend £20-£40 for a pair of jeans, so I've got 4 pairs off ebay for less than £20 altogether. I know it's second hand but a lot of the stuff on there has only been worn a couple of times. Being skint, I'm not fussy!!
