okay so work knows and they are not sure if i am able to have materntiy pay because i have not been with the compnay for a year! is there any other way be eligible to get anything if not entitled to maternity :S x
Will you have been with them a year by the time baby comes? My situation is similar, and I have not yet been here a year, but will have by the time I take maternity leave. Other than that I don't know of anything else I think a lot of it depends where you are from and what type of public benefits are offered.
If your in the uk and not entitled to smp you will get a maternity alowence of the government whick is about 130 a week, it goes off you national insurance contributions as to how long u get it i think dont quote me on that tho as i looked into it as im only on a long term temp contract at work so not entitled to smp x
Have the rules changed then? When I was pregnant with my first DD I was entiltled to SMP (which was 6 weeks @90% pay then 33 weeks at 120quid a week). As long as you have been at the company since before you were pregnant or from the day you got pregnant you should get SMP i think xxx
If you are in the UK and you have been employed for 6 and a half months before the 15th week of your baby's due date, then you should defo get smp!! You should go on the HM revenue website. It tells you everything on there. X x
