Maternity Photoshoot

For those of you who have done one... How far along were you? Did you do something traditional or offbeat? I have a friend that is a photographer that said she will do mine. I saw an article in offbeatmama.com and really want to do something in the woods with my DH but I dont know how far along I should be.

I haven't had one done but think you should be quite far on, at least in the 3rd trimester, closer to 32 weeks+ - just so you have a nice and large baby belly.

had my first scan November the 20th and due to have second on the 8th of December. im now 17 weeks pregnant

I also have a friend who is building his portfolio and needs some preggers shots. I'm 28 weeks now and still don't feel big enough so will probably wait until about 32-34 weeks. We're just doing some very plain 'dark' shots, just me, a black background and one light. Might do some 'nudey' ones yet, I'm not sure, depends how much of an increase I see in my cellulite between now and then!

I've one scheduled for when I'm around 35 weeks - the photographer thinks that's the best moment not only to capture the big belly but also the way the mum is aware of the baby. ^^

I am a amateur photographer and have been researching bump shoots as it is something I want to offer when I launch my photography business next year. I just need to add some maternity pictures to my portfolio and have a couple of volunteers lined up for a few weeks time.

The optimum time to do them is around 34 - 38 weeks but a lot of photograhers do them anytime from 32 weeks onwards just in case baby comes early.

We had some done last pregnancy at about 31 weeks and I definitely looked nicely bumpy and pregnant then, thought not huge, and had the benefit of still feeling well and mobile rather than like a complete beached whale so was happy to be in poses for a little while and to try a wide variety of things. I'm having a photo shoot again this time at the weekend when I'll be just over 32 weeks. I'm bigger this time and feeling more sore (thanks to SPD) so I might not do as much, but we are going to go into the woods at the back of our house to do them. If I'm sure there are no neighbours about and it's not too cold I may even do some semi-nudey ones, but it is November so I'm not actively planning that.

I'm attaching one from last time so you can see what my bump size was like. If you compare it to my avatar pic (31 weeks this time) you can really see the difference in size between the pregnancies. It's one of the reasons why I wanted this one done at about the same time as the last one, as a comparison.
