    OK Ladies,

How many of you have put a waterproof cover on your mattresses? I can't decide if it's a good idea!

    Cheers

I hate the feeling and sound of mattress covers, so i just put 2 towels under the sheet on my side of the bed, just in case. I also have another towel beside the bed, so I can grab it quickly if I need to.

I haven't, those waterproof things are horrible! So noisy and sweaty! But I plan on using one of those big incontinence bed pads under the sheet soon. I'm worried because I rent my house, including the furniture, so the mattress doesn't even belong to me.

I'll be getting one. My mattress is only a few months old and was pretty expensive so the last thing I want is for my waters to break all over it :haha:

I think it'll be handy to have on there for after I've had the baby too because you bleed so much after birth, it's probably best to be safe than sorry.

Not sure where to get one though, probably Mothercare or something?

With my last pregnancy I put an old vinyl shower curtain under my bedding. It was somewhat noisy though.

I bought the disposable ones, but found I needed to change them every few days as they scrunch up. If you out them under the sheet you cant feel them...

As it happens I've put mine on today: https://www.thenappylady.co.uk/public/productdetails.aspx?id=40&cat=5

Last pregnancy my waters went in bed but I awoke at the first trickle. I'm very much hoping they won't break at all until after contractions have started but just in case... We have bought a lovely new expensive mattress too so the last thing I want is to deck it. I have this stuff as a change mat and when I'm done with mine I'll cut it up into bits and use it to protect my kids' beds from nighttime trickles once they're out of nappies.
