Here is my first scan done today. 9w2d, heart beat was 177 bpm, measured 2.5cm.

I know right ?? I never know if I'm 4 or 5 hours behind home (UK) lol. I gave up trying to keep up with that 3 years ago

I wish I had found an hours/minutes countdown ticker for my scan, lol.... it would clear up all this confusion for everyone who keeps asking when I'm getting mine done

I think its 8 ahead of me... which makes sense that its 5 for you guys... but then I keep bumping into girls who tell me the time and its not only 5 hours ahead, but sometimes an extra 30 minutes off from my time? Just so confusing!!!

I have (what is probably a dumb) question.
Do they do a scan at your first official OB appt? I've only been into the doc for blood work so far. I have my official OB appt. scheduled for 2 weeks from tomorrow (way too long) I'll be almost 8 weeks by then.
An even dumber question- how is a scan different from an ultra sound?

Nope, not with my last pregnancy .. was bog standard run of the mill. First app was for bloods and such, then montly appointments. First scan was at 13 weeks.

Only reason I'm getting an early scan this time .. to make sure eggie is in the correct place this time as I had an ectopic last month.

scan is the same as an ultrasound.. I don't know if its pregnancy short-hand lingo or if its all the UK girls on this thread that have influenced us... sure is easier to type though!
