I am pregnant again after a mc in june, i am currently 5 + 2 days.

Am very anxious but my dr has informed me is completely normal.

Will be getting an early scan at 8 weekth to check all ok.

I have noticed i get a few sharp twinges in left and right lower abdomen during day and also lower back pain.

Is this normal? i remember getting very strong twinges like that just before mc.

Any advice?

Some twinges are entirely normal, they are just your uterus starting to expand and things shifting around in your pelvis. Back pain is also a common nuisance in pregnancy, I have had it right from the start.

Fingers crossed for a good outcome for you this time!

thanks very much for reply kat2504!

Just nervous this time round!

My youngest is 5 so can't realy mind lol x

Honey, I miscarried in July @ 10 weeks (mmc...baby never got beyond 6 weeks, apparently), so I can understand your fears. I am currently on cycle #2 TTC after my D & C, and I know when I get my next BFP, I'll be so anxious over every little thing.

Those twinges and little stabs are common, and normal. It means everything is attempting to make room in your uterus for the growing baby. Don't let these bother you. :)

This fear and anxiety you're experiencing really can't be avoided. Other people who have never experienced a loss will try to tell you to not be nervous, and to relax...well, they can't truly understand the basis of this fear, unless they've lost a baby themselves. So, try to take it one day at a time, or an hour at a time, if need be. Try to do relaxing activities that MAY take your mind off the pregnancy, and try to resort yourself to the fact that if this is meant to be, then you'll be bringing your rainbow baby home in about 8 months. Those of us who have lost a child know that pregnancy does not always result in the "happy ending" that we see on television 100% of the time, so we approach the issue with reservations, and trying to guard our hearts and heads from another devastation.

Hang in there...and CONGRATULATIONS! I hope to be joining you in the next few months!

Thanks for you reply Wookie 130.

Its the stabbing pains that is worrying me (it just feels like its constantly there) but as long as theres no bleeding i know i need to chill and relax (easier said than done)

Wishing you all the best and hope you get ur bfp very soon xxx

Apparently pains are good, I had aMC in June, and then got BFP I had a early 7 week scan and everything was there where is was suppose to be, even though i have had loads of pains, each one worrying me that it was all going wrong!

I'm getting the little twinges too, and I welcome them... they're a sign things are growing down there! I did NOT get those little twinges with several of my m/c's. I was worried with this pg because at first I didn't notice them. Now they're happening and I love each and every one of them!
