membrane sweeps?

Hi, I cant offer any advise, as im due for a sweep on Wednesday, If Lo hasnt come. My MW is coming to my house, but i guess every area is different. How overdue are you? im 8 days today, and very fed up ;-(

heya hun. i'm only 3 days overdue, but due to complications i was told he'd need to come out very soon after my due date!
my sweep is also wednesday, terrified! lol but i hope it works as i really don't fancy been induced!

hi i had a sweep done thursday in the hospital, i was being monitored for reduced movements an ws having tightenings thety gave me an internal to see how i was progressing and said while she was there it couldnt hurt to do a sweep. It was a little uncomfortable but not at all painful and lasted 30 seconds?? and i had a little cramping thursday evening but im still here monday morning/afternoon so i guess it didnt work for me, i did everything i was told kept moving, up and down stairs went for a walk had a bounce on ball but my hubby wouldnt dtd !!! lol good luck x

With DD2, I had a sweep at +8 days over, the midwife came to my house for a normal antenal appt and she just did it while I lay on the floor with a towel.

Had it about 3.30pm, felt crampy within the hour and had a bit of spotting. By 7pm the cramping where quite strong and regular, and she was born by 3am the next morning So for me it worked a treat!

I was meant to have mine today, at home. i'm 10 days over and thought my waters may be leaking, the hospital couldn't tell so have now cancelled my sweep as they say if they have gone they can't do it anyway and have booked me straight in for induction Fri!!
