Metformin & AF

Hi there ladies!!

I have just started metformin about 2 weeks ago. I started on 500mg and day and im now up to 1000mg a day.. although the dose goes up again tomorrow to 1500mg!

So after about a week on 500mg and half a week on 1000mg I started my period on my own!! Is this a good sign? It lasted about 6-7 days. Its stopped now but wondering if im not going to be fertile and ovulate?? When I was with my previous partner I had metformin in the same doses and I lost some weight and had a natural period every 29-35 days!! Which is good considering I never have them naturally?? Was it possible I was ovulating?? Im on cycle day 8 now an nervous what to do next but excited because I can count my days

Hello!!

I also have PCOS and was on 500mg then 1000mg of metformin when I got my first natural AF. I am now on CD 60 something of that cycle but no AF. So I contacted my Dr. today about doing Provera to induce period and then on CD 1 going up to 1500mg.

So yes for me Metformin did bring 1 natural AF but thinking I need more to maintain natural AFs.
