I was on nothing but Metformin when I conceived We were told we'd need ICSI, due to problems on my DH's side too, but I found out I was pregnant 4 days after our screening appointment!

It really helped me to finally shift the weight I'd been carrying, and I went from no periods at all, to a regular 30 day cycle.

I'm on 1500g of metformin a day.

Like Eala, it has helped me to lose 19lbs and it is still coming off plus I too went from no periods at all, to a regular 31/32 day cycle and I ovulated for the first time on Monday.

Yup, I was on Metformin slow release 850mg x 2 per day during my 3rd ICSI cycle and got my BFP.

i stopped taking mine as it made me quite poorly but might start back on it at a lower dose and try again after hearing the success stories.

im only taking 500 mg and have not lost more than 3 lbs but i did start my own new cycle for the first time in a long time after taking it for 2 months and had a 38 day cycle.....i will be raising it up again( was on 1000 mg until vacation then stopped it) it does make me have to go to the bathroom quit a bit but if i get my cycles back and a bfp its worth it

I just started today because my insulin resistances level was over 20 the normal being 10-14! Ewww the side effects though! I've been up all night with belly cramps, nausea and the runs. But I figure its only going to be like this for a few weeks. I'm on 500mg for 7 days then 1000mg for 7 days then I'll be taking 1500mg for a while.

My fertility specialist says that he believes that metformin is what's going to work for me. Though I will start back on clomid next cycle.
