Mid-cycle spotting and cramping?

I have zero idea where I am in my cycle. I went for a week long trip during AF and didn't bring my thermometer. Then work scheduale has been on and off so BBT has not been reliable at all.

No idea how close I am to O. I only know that my libido was through the roof just days after AF finished.

But just two days ago (on CD17) I noticed brown spotting. And I'm slightly cramping as well (not on one side like I usually do with ovulation pain). I don't know what's wrong with me this cycle...

Hormonal imbalance?

It could be several things. It could be hormones. Since it was brown blood which means old blood, it could be left over blood from your period that couldn't make its way out until your cervix dilated for ovulation. It could also be a strong ovulation where a little blood was released after an egg popped through. Either way I would say it is a sign that you are close to O time.
