Midwifes

I know this may sound a bit odd but... can some of you girls tell me how many home visits you have had from your midwives and weather it was after a normal delivery or c-section... Long story short my midwife hasnt been to see me yet (been home 16 days) ive had 2 visits from others but been told MY midwife would be round to see me on sunday and she didnt turn up and among a few other things during my pregnancy she has been crap in my eyes..
I know they dont visit as often as they used to so just wanted to know from some other people..

I think I had about four visits from my MW and four from various others (this is due to my MW going on holiday). My LO did have jaundice, then lost too much weight due to feeding problems and I was also quite poorly; this could be why we had so many visits.

I think if everything's going well they only visit about two or three times. Your MW not turning up is bad though. She should have contacted you to cancel.

I had a vaginal delivery but with a third degree tear. I think my MWs came out to me 4/5 times before handing over to the HV who came out twice. I was first seen the day after I was discharged from hospital.

The midwife I had in pregnancy never saw me once LO was born. I got visited by others the day after out of hospital and then every three or four days till birth weight was back.

I saw my midwife 5 times after little one was born and got a phone call every second day but i was sick and LO tongue tied. usually they come day after home from hospital,then day 5 then day 10 where they sign you off but it doesn't have to be your midwife just a midwife!

I had a c-section and had 3 home visits from the community midwives before they handed over to the health visitor. As long as you're seen it doesn't have to be the same midwife each time.

I only had two visits from a MW, one the day after we came home (LO was 5 days old) and one when he was 16 days. I'd never met either of them before but to be honest wasn't that bothered about seeing the two i had whilst pregnant anyway! I had a forceps delivery with episiotomy and stitches so would of thought they'd of at least been out to check them but neither of them even asked to look
