I spend a LOT of my time walking around the house rocking my five-week-old daughter. The jiggling usually sends her off but I'm interested to know what other parents do. Do you have any special tricks that put your baby to sleep? Please share!

Mom of a former newborn here ;) When my LO was that age I would either nurse her to sleep or I would jiggle/bounce her to sleep. Swaddling made a big difference, as did white noise (waterfall sounds = amazing!!).

Oh, and sometimes I would use the Happiest Baby on the Block technique where I would swaddle her and then lay her on her side across my arm and gently jiggle her head while shushing.

I just tend to cuddle her on my chest. If that doesn't settle her then an additional "Ssshhhh" will.

At night we play white noise (app on my phone) and that seems to do it.

LO has just started resisiting sleep sometimes. Before he was an ideal sleeper. He spends a little more time awake and I think he wants to stay awake more now because he sees/notices more...I got spoiled.

I try: Nursing him, swaddling him, putting him in his swing...(he is in his swing now, the only place he will sleep tonight) At night we cosleep and he usually falls asleep/gets VERY sleepy laying on my chest, then I move him down beside me. Sometimes he goes to sleep/stays asleep after that, sometimes he has to go back to chest. Sometimes we repeat the chest-side-chest-side dance 4-5 times before he stays asleep.

Flynn will often fall asleep at the boob or on my chest. We also have a Ewan the Dream Sheep, amazing! If I put FLynn in his crib when he is drowsy, I just switch Ewan on to the white noise option & Flynn falls asleep to that.
