can someone tell me what is classed as hyperemesis? Thats spelt so wrong lol. I am having lots of throwing up all round the clock. I have no energy to do anything or even move. Yesterday i must have thrown up about ten times. I get this horrible, nasty, bitter, stinging, acidY taste in my throat and it feels like somethimgs stuck there waiting to come out. I am not enjoying this pregnancy at all. Im a teacher and am currently on summer hols which i was looking 4ward to 4 months. But they have been crap due to my m.s. Ive been neglecting my poor toddler and taking out my stress and anger out on him which is just not fair!! I am so tired al day long and feel dead. I dont even have the energy to wretch anymre. Tmi. As 4 the tipz and cures, lemon and everythng else suggested makes me feel sick. I camt and i dont eat anythng al day. Cant even keep water down. I just cant wait till its over.

that sounds like hyperemesis to me. i feel your pain i am suffering too. get yourself to the gp. the dehydration can be dangerous and he can give you some medication to help things. worst case you'll end up in hospital on a drip.

don't suffer, get help! i hate taking meds even when not pregnant but it has been i lifesaver. i still have bad days but generally i can function so much better on the meds. good luck:thumbup:

yeah but today ive been sick but not as bad still had nausea though. What meds he put you on?

If you can get Emetrol where you are, try that. It helps a lot for nausea....as long as you can get past the taste! Or try "Sea Bands".

I'm gonnna agree with rosie! That sounds like hyperemesis to me... and miserable :( I'd get into your doc. I was put on Diclectin last week for 24/7 nausea that was restricting my daily activities. I'm not sure where your from or what medication would be available to you, but they work wonders and are completely safe :hugs: get feeling better x

I have it too, I suffered fir 3 weeks before going to the docs. It can be dangerous. If you can't handle water or fluids, try ice pops, calippos, even flavoured ice cubes to suck on. They help keep you hydrated. My doc put me on cyclizine. It makes me very drowsy and sleepy, but I'd rather that than constantly being sick. They are looking to change it though to something that will enable me to go back to work. Don't suffer in silence like I did. Explain how often you're being sick and that you just can't function. My doc told mr normal ms can be feeling sick constantly, but not usually being sick more than 3 or 4 times a day, I'm sick about 30...lol. Don't take no for an answer. First doc I saw told me it's just part of being pregnant and deal with it as everyone else does! So I went back and saw someone else. There is help out there. Feel better soon xx

thanks guys. I will be seeing the doc today. I really cant stand the thought of eating tablets though, yuck!

i just bought this tonight and wondered if it worked....it says its cherry flavored but most cherry flavored meds are ugh lol....glad to hear it works :) i payed almost 7 bucks a bottle but worth it if it works. i got mine at walmart.

jus been 2docs given some tablets yuk if i can swallow them!

hi has any1 taken cyclizine 4 m.s? Do they work? Have any side èffects?

I'm on cyclizine. For me personally, they haven't worked. Spoken to a few people who say it's helped no end. They made me very tired, I had to go to bed at about 7pm and didn't get up till about 10am. I still felt rubbish for hours the next day, and was still being sick. I think they all react differently to everyone, and unfortunately they just weren't for me :( fingers crossed they work for you. If they don't to start with, try varying the length if time between taking them and trying to eat x

i cant even take them. I only took 1 made me feel sick. I really cant cope anymre :((

Ask for Zofran . I am taking it currently and you don't have to swallow it. It dissolves under your tongue :)

ah...its horrible...are you managing to sip water and stay hydrated? Its awful and I honestly have cried so much. I cant believe tbh that there isnt more research or even just support with this. You feel you have to beg your GP etc...I think there should be a special care plan and support for women with SEVERE SICKNESS. All I can say is every day is a day closer to that 2nd trimester mark and hopefully it will calm down. Day by day, even hour by hour and try to get in the fresh air and out when you can. Emetrol I have seen posted to be a help, I have also linked mine with constipation and reflux. I think its related. Trying to stay regular and any food that does go down im trying to follow with sips of milk to calm my stomach. I hope this eases for you. x

im just v worried that me not eating will affect my baby. Also iv not taken folic acId 4a few days as just looking at them makes me feel sick!! And after taking 1 cyclizine tablet dnt thnk il be takn them again! Help!

I was worried about that, but doc and midwife both told me that baby will take what it needs from your stores, so don't worry too much. Just eat whatever you can manage whenever you can. Even if you bring it back up, some of it might do you some good. Try ice pops if you can't handle drinking. I didn't take folic acid for about 2 weeks as I just couldn't manage to swallow them. Go back to the docs, see if they can try you on something else x

The zofran taste kinda like cherry. :) I also wasnt eating for days. I dropped about 10lbs. Try pedialyte its great for giving you electrolytes, it comes in a freezie form which i found to be easier for me to eat.
Honestly MS totally made me depressed . Couldn't eat and couldn't sleep right. Then i had b**chy women on other forums saying oh suck it up its not that bad. Yeah well no one knows whats its like to not be able to consume anything because it keeps getting thrown up, but to also have such horrible hunger pains. I dont feel the nausea nearly as much as i used to. Hardly at all. Now my only issue is constipation....i dont know if that is from the meds or from being preg ? LOL

I so understand what you mean. I have been horribly sick since before I even knew I was pregnant! I don't keep anything down even with my nausea meds and have been dropping weight like crazy. I was told it's okay to drop weight in the first trimester and that most do due to the MS. I am in week 11...and so hoping my MS goes with the first trimester. PLEASE haha

Hi, I have had hyperemesis both my previous pregnancies- both times ending up in hospital for several days just to recover. This time the doctor has put me on medication from the start- it hasnt stopped me being sick but it certainly helps. I had Zofran in both previous pregnancies so was confident that it would be okay this time. Dehydration is worse for you than most meds they will give you, you need to be hydrated to be able to supply what your baby needs. Also if you are feeling really dry and not coping i highly recommend going into the Emergancy department, they will test your urine for ketones and check your bloods for dehydration- if your admitted then you needed to be there, if not they will probably pump some fluid into you via IV and after a few bags you will be surprised how good you will feel. It makes all the difference in the world! I have been in once this pregnancy to get the fluid and the five hours I had to wait were worth it! If you are vomiting more than three times a day and not keeping fluid down go in. otherwise, what has worked for me, or helped alot is keeping something in my stomach- even if all you do is dry crackers- eat! You may vommit but it is important for you to and even if you are going to vomit drink- get the hydralight or powerade - eletralights (spelling) are imperative! ... So i eat constantly- crackers and dry toast, apples - chew them properly, just in case same with celery, i peel them tho... lol... when you get up at night to go to the toilet as we all do at this stage- eat some crackers- before you get out of bed- eat! And more than anything - i have found ecalyptus drops to be a real God send, i suck them to help with the horrible phlegm that i have and it helps to keep me from being sick. Also ice- now this is my biggest friend atm, i even drive through mcdonalds when i am out to get a large cup full of it, just to get fluid into me. Dehydration is what will get to you the most with morning sickness... hope it helps- Sure wish someone had passed this onto me when i was pregnant last time! lol.
