Ladies she wont sleep! 3 nights ago she had to move to her cot as she was getting far too big fr her basket, we have had the 3 nights where she wakes from 2 or 3am and is awake until 5ish. She's not screaming she's just so unsetlled and wide awake. Im exhausted as I have a 2 yr old who gets up at 6am.

I give her milk but she doesn't go back to sleep ( this is a baby who hasn't woken once since 5 weeks old:shrug: ) She's having no more than 3 hrs sleep in the day??? she's 5 months old...

What do I do? Im a zombie:wacko::wacko::wacko: the cot is where her moses basket was, right next to our bed. She has the same sleeping bag?

Is this normal? I never had it with my other daughter.

any tips, advice would be muchly appreciated...

I didn't want to R&R - but shall be stalking this thread - hugs to you xxx

Thank you. I'm hoping it's just going to take a few nights. I could cope with waking for feeding if she was going back to sleep. Its just she's awake for hours and I can not sleep when she's awake. I dont have the option of moving her to her own room as a toddler is in there who would no doubt want to get in with her, or share all her toys with her ect x

Hi ya, have you tried puting her in her moses basket in the cot? Help her get used to it first if she doesnt like it. Thats what id try first anyways xxx

I wish I had done that but now not an option as I have given it to a friend...

Oh no, nightmare!! Could you borrow it back for a few days or has your friend already had the baby? Im having problems with my 3 week old going to sleep in his moses, started to swaddle him, prop him up a little and put one of my t shirts in there to help him stay asleep in there, worked last couple of times but as ive only just started still not sure it will keep working! May be a few comfort techniques could work for you and your little girl? xx

I read a sleep book by Tracey Hogg (baby whisperer) that has a good technique for moving them to the cot. Something involving starting with a pillow : / look it up I'm terrible at explaining things I'm afraid lol.

My DD was the same, for us it just took time, but she's been a rubbish sleeper since birth. We co-sleep now for part of the night. I've read on here that some people have used rolled up towels to try and re-create the confinement of the basket.

i wouldn't worry about this as i tried this with my son and he slept perfectly in his moses basket in his cot but when we took the basket away he wouldn't sleep at all in the cot! he's actually in there now meant to be sleeping and i can hear him chattering away to himself while i hide in the next room. Luckily he still just about fits in his basket so we've left him in there at night but i'm sure it's only a matter of days until we can't do it anymore. i know it's not advice but it's sometimes nice to know your not the only ones struggling. :hugs:

Thanks ladies. She really is too big for it now anyways...hopefully it will settle :(

Aww well all babies are different, she will get there and im sure you will find what works for her to make her feel more comfortable xxx
