Hello ladies, I'm after some advice on moses basket rocking stands. Finally bit the bullet and ordered a moses basket but now I haven't got a clue what stand to buy. A website with a head to toe rocking movement claims babies like it better but there are tonnes more side to side rockers on the market. Any experience?????
Ta!
:dohh:

Nope but I need one too so pushing this back to the top :-)

OH gran keeps trying to push me to get a rocking stand but for some reason im just not too keen on them, no idea why its just something about them I dont like but cant place my finger on why.

Not had experience with one before, but i'd have thought that the side to side motion would have been more comforting for a baby. But then it can depend on the baby

i got a side to side rocking one. had one with logan too but he never liked his moses basket so couldnt say if its what babies enjoy more xx

I've got a top to tail rocking one but I had a non-rocking stand for my first two. I dont think it really matters, its more the rocking motion that should settle them rather than which way it rocks. I think maternity ward ones rock side to side x

sorry gatecrashing from 2nd tri, i had 2 with dd (one at MIL's) and one was a side to side and one was a head to toe. I would recommend the side to side one as the problem i found with the head to toe one was that if i put dd feet to foot like they recommend, the basket tipped down (toe end) if you see what i mean, so had to make sure that dd was always in the centre. also, found side to side one easier to rock with one hand while half asleep led in bed.xx

I think I might get a stationary one. I get really motion sick and I think I would feel the baby was getting sick too ... silly i know ....

i was told by midwife that rocking ones can cause problems wen u move LO to a normal cot as LO gets used to the rocking and then finds it hard to drop off without the rocking, iv stuck to a non rocking one xx
