i was refreshingly surprised to hear my mum telling off my OH for trying to get jacob to lick some ice cream the other day. and there was me thinking grand parents making excuses to shovel crap into our LOs was par for the course 
she then continued to tell us jacob shouldnt be weened yet (hes 4.5 months and we dont plan to ween him until 6 months anyway) followed by her own experiences of why early weening is physically bad for babies.
no "havent you tried him on rice yet?" nag nag hint hint blah blah blah from this grandma - YAY!!!!!!!

Good for your mum. It's nice when they're supportive and willing to share their experiences with you, both good and bad!
