Muslin Squares....What do you call them?

I thought a do-rag was something people wore on their head to protect hair?

Yes, over here they are closest to burp cloths and that's what I call them. Very useful for everything! :)

Yes and its generally made out of nylon.

I'm just calling them muslins (actually auto-correct keeps on changing it to Muslims!)

I was told that you can never have too many as they can be used for so many purposes, so I've got a basket full of them!

In our house they're called bibby's!

When our 4th baby was born our daughter was 2.5 yrs, we then called muslins dribble cloths as that was what someone had called them when I was young and it had stuck! Well, she couldn't say dribble cloth and it used to come out as bibbley cloths which then somehow got shortened to bibby and they have been known as that ever since!
My 7 & 6 yr olds still have them as comforters to sleep with at night and my 2yr old and 16 month old have them as comforters during day and night! x

Muslin, muslins or muslin squares.

I'm sure I've accidentally called them Muslim squares a couple of times.

I don't know what the difference is in America but I've always called them a burp cloth xx

My good friend thought they were called muslim squares and was always asking hubby to fetch her a muslim. She was horrified when she realised her mistake.

It was just a genuine error and im sure many do it by mistake without meaning to offend anyone.

We call them muslin squres as thats what they are and called in shops etc

Xxx

I've always just called them muslins. My mum sometimes calls them muslims, it's no biggie though.

I call them muslims (always have as i just say it.wrong)....why is saying a word offensive?? Muslims are muslims??

It's not, I just always worry that calling them muslims instead of muslin I might offend someone. but that's just me.

We call them 'clothies', my daughter uses one as a comforter and that's what she calls them x x x

I call them muzzies, didn't realise it was offensive. Oops.

I think it can be pronounced differently too, like moo-zies or mu-zies like the 'u' in up.

We get the giant ones that can be used as a burp cloth, a swaddle blanket, a regular blanket or a breastfeeding shawl. I always have one in my mummy bag.

The ones we use are also made of bamboo, so soft and wash each time to be silky soft. The cheaper ones go a little bit scratchy and hard.

Here in the US we call them burp rags or burp cloths. I wouldn't be offended by the accident. We all say things wrong from time to time.

My mom calls them muslims and she is muslim herself.... :dohh:
