Hey ladies
I made an appointment for the mw tomorrow Its an in between visit for some advice cos i'm not due to go til 28 weeks for a proper appointment.

I'm not sure if youv seen on any of my other posts but i've been suffering a bit at nights lately because i've been getting heartburn, cramp in my legs and really bad itching. Now hip ache has added into the mix and to be honest i'm exhausted. I don't feel like i'm doing a good job at this pregnancy lark at the minute.
I went to the docs about all this last week and she basically packed me off with a bottle of gaviscon which don't get me wrong is brill for the heartburn but the rest just pretty much get on with it. I felt like crying when i came out of there tbh. Its getting silly now with the hardly sleeping, i'm pretty sure that everything thats going on is just normal preg symptoms so i shouldn't worry but i really am doing and i know that stressing is not going to help the sleep thing and then i'm in a viscious (sp??) circle.
I think i'm just hoping that the midwife is going to give me some proper advice and won't think i'm wasting her time.

Aww you poor thing!! You are having a tough time of it :( It all sounds like things you can get while pregnancy unfortunately.

The hip pain could be pelvic pain and hopefully the MW will refer you to physio for that, it really helps if caught early enough.

Insomnia is horrible, I really feel for you. Is it worry which is keeping you up or something else? Is there something you can do to relax before you try to sleep? Do you like lavender, could you put some essential oil on your pillow to help?

But above all great big hugs :hugs: and I hope it all settles for you :hugs:

Thanks for the :hugs: it really helps!!
I've got one of those body pillows and a really nice lavender oil air freshener in the bedroom tonight so i'm going to see if that makes a difference.
I think it was originally that i was getting cramp and heartburn that was waking me up and stopping me sleeping in the first place but now i think its prob more the worrying thats doing it.
I know i shouldn't be and it all is normal preg stuff but i don't seem to be able to help it now!!

This is probably going to sound mental but if you are really stressed doing a low attention required repetitive task can help relax before you are going to sleep. I found that knitting really helped me when I was pregnant with DD and I made a few lovely blankets for her so it was useful too lol.

Although you know that there is no need to worry if you're anything like me you'll start to worry that you are worrying so much........ which isn't helpful!

Oh try a pillow between your legs, that can really help with hip/pelvic pain.

See if you can find something which helps you relax before bed and I hope that the body pillow and lavender oil help tonight :)

Well i saw the midwife today and she was brilliant!
She advised me to take a couple of days off work which i have done and she took blood samples to test. She said she can't sign me off but i can self cert for 7 days and if i needed more to see the doctor. She also said that she would test for obstetric choleosis (sorry thats prob spelt wrong!!) because of the itching, she did say it most likely isn't that but it would put my mind at rest to know for definate and would refer me to physio for the pain in my hips.
She didn't make me feel like i was stupid or wasting her time and to be honest just someone that even sounded like they understood was brilliant!

ah thats fab it makes such a difference when u have a nice mw, mine is fab 2.
Hope u feel better soon xxx
