My 1st IUI - What were your dates??

Hi all, well I went for my first iui scan today on day 8 of my cycle. The nurse said everything is looking good. I have 2 leading follicles and 2 smaller ones. They would hope for 1, 2 or 3 follies but 4 is too many, so I was told. So hoping the two leaders take off and the fourth one doesnt. Although I would be happy to go ahead regadless of how many follies I have.

I am not due to go back until day 13. I normally get my peak fertility on my clearblue monitor on day 14. I have been put on injections to prevent early ovulation.

Can I ask what cycle day you did your trigger shot and how many hours later did you have your iui???

This is also my first IUI. Im starting Follistim tonight through Sunday and will have my first u/s on Monday (cd7).... Im so excited and optimistic. Im praying this works for us...
will you be doing the trigger shot as well? good luck to you, Im sending you lots of baby

Hi Lisa, yep I will be doing a trigger shot. The nurse said i will prob take trigger on wednesday & iui thursday but I suppose it all depends on tuesday's scan.

We have MFI. If you dont mind me asking what, if any, fertility issues have u?? Is follistim an injection????

oh wow how exciting a trigger shot buddy so you'll do the trigger shot on cd14... that's great.. cd14 will be here before you know it..

MFI, what is it? I don't mind you asking at all. I was diagnosed with DOR (Dimished Ovarian Reserve) basically just means that I have low egg quantity and possibly in pre-menopause... I've read success stories on here of ladies with this exact diagnosis and going on to become pregnant, some even naturally, so that gives me hope. Follistim is an injection and it helps stimulate the ovaries and produce more eggs... did my first shot last night.. a little scary but peice of cake

ah right I wasnt sure if Follistim was the name of your medication! I was on tamoxifen tablets and now on gonal f injections as well as a cetrotide injection to prevent early ovulation.
MFI is male factor infertility. DH has low count & motility. I was told I have low ovarian reserve.
Rang my clinic this morning and got my follie sizes. Right ovary 13mm & 10mm and left ovary 12mm & 11mm. Fingers crossed for tuesday that 3 of them are thriving!!! Worried if I still have 4 in the running they might cancel my cycle.

I understand u being worried about DOR but I really believe with everything me and my dh have been through in the past 2 yrs that ANYTHING is possible. Lets hope that the anything is a forever baby for both of us xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

oooh okay, about the MFI LOL my hubby has good sperm count but low motility. is your hubby taking any meds? yes that's what I have low egg reserve... I think the medical term is DOR.
Yes Follistim is the name of the med, I've read that it's great and from what I've also read, Im on a high does 300iu.
OMG those are good size follies for being at this cycle day I think I hope so...

No hubby isnt on any meds, apparently there are no medications to improve his count. He is taking vitamins since Feb 2010. He stopped smoking the day he got the result. Lets hope its good on the day Im only 5 days ahead of u
