My baby is finally here!!!

After hoping and praying for a VBAC, and waiting for my body to do it's own thing and go into labor naturally, the day finally came for my repeat c-section. So, even though I didn't get to experience the natural childbirth that I'd hoped for, I'm happy to say that my little boy is finally here. He's happy and healthy, and that's all I could have asked for!

On Wednesday, September 1st, 10 days past my due date, I had to be at the hospital at 9:30am for a scheduled section at 11:30am. Everything went pretty smoothly. I did experience a terrible upper back pain and strong nausea during the surgery, but after a few more medicines were given to me, that eventually went away.

At 11:49am, our second son Jake Dylan was born weighing 9lbs 12oz and 21 inches long. He is absolutely perfect and I couldn't ask for more! Thank you for all of the support through my pregnancy, and I hope that all of the overdue August babies, and soon to come September babies all arrive soon, safe and sound!

Hope u don't mind me asking but how come they didn't induce u? I have opted for a vbac too and have been booked in for an induction if I go overdue, they didn't mention me having to have a c section again if i went overdue

No problem. Here in the states, there aren't many doctors who will allow an induction after a cesarean, due to risk of uterine rupture. The practice I go to wouldn't even consider it. Besides, I was high risk with my first pregnancy, so I'm lucky they even gave me the chance to try for a VBAC I suppose. I'm okay with the way things went though. As the days go by, the recovery is getting much easier. My milk came in last night, so Jake is nursing wonderfully now. That was one of the big struggles over the last few days. So, now that things are going well with that, everything else is getting easier as well.

Good luck with your VBAC. Hopefully you won't have to go through with the induction!
