Today I had my obyn doctor's appointment @ 35 weeks + 3 days.

He said that my baby is in a breech position, there is a chance he can move. So I need to come back in 2 weeks for my next appointment & they will check it again.

My doctor said that I may need a c section or an evc (external cephalic version), that is when they will try to turn baby around during an ultrasound at a hospital. I'm worried here :(

How likely will I go in a c section here? Anyone had this similar experience?

Do they normally do a c section before a due date? like 2 weeks earlier?

I'm in the same position. I'm booked in for an ECV tomorrow morning and if not successful will need a section. Very nervous about tomorrow but thought it was worth a try. Good luck to you too!

My son turned at 37 weeks. There's still every chance baby will move, and plenty of time. Don't panic :)

Same here. I have a c-section scheduled for 39 weeks but we are doing it early only because i have been on bedrest for high blood pressure since 31 weeks. Otherwise I think I would want to wait until I went into labor to see if she would turn, but I think they still like to schedule them at 39 weeks just so it wont be considered an emergency c-section

My first was breach. I tried the ECV, acupuncture and moxibustion but he didn't turn. I ended up with a c-section at 39+1. I'm hoping for a vbac but this one has been breach the whole time. In fact I'm writing this inverted on my couch hoping I can get her to turn and stay head down.

The first time they gave me the choice of whether to wait until I went into labor for the c-section or just schedule it. I choose to schedule it. Good luck!

Thank you all :) I even asked my ob if there is anything that I can do myself? He said, nope. He said, all we can do is hope for the baby to move.

I have a strong feeling that this one won't want to move on it own :( I can still feel his head up by my chest (now that I realized what that hard round thing on top, lol at first, I thought it was his bum...but I was wrong). I can feel more pressure down there, his feet...no wonder.

I am a little worried with the ecv thing, I hope it isn't painful? It does sound painful, they'll try to move baby around. I'm already in pain, lol! My belly is very tight & whenever he moves, it is painful! I'm a little scared here (I know I'm a being a baby here :p). AGH!

hope all the best! <3

My little girl is breech and has been since like 20 weeks, she just likes it that way and I have a feeling she isn't going to move. I am having twins so they wouldn't ever suggest ECV but even if they did I wouldn't try. I was a breech baby (my mom says my little girl must just take after me) and they tried to turn me and my mom said it was more painful than her natural labor with my older sister. The turned me half way and slipped and I flipped back butt down and my mom refused to let them try again it hurt so bad. She said she had bruises all over from it. (They tried at 35 weeks, I was born the next week via emergency c-section because after they tried my mom started getting a lot of BH and it ended up making her dilate) I feel your pain about the pressure down low my little girl loves to kick around down there and it feels like I am being shocked sometimes.

Yah the ECV is not pleasant. They give you some sort of relaxant but it still hurts. Try the spinning babies that the pp linked. Their positions are very logical and I've heard good things.

There are lots of things you can do to turn a breech baby yourself so your OB is wrong in what they've told you! Try websters technique, an osteopath, moxibustion and all the inversions on spinning babies... I've been doing all of the above as this is my second breech baby and I find out later if its worked! If not they do usually like to schedule c-sections for 39 weeks to reduce the chance of going into natural labour- but you can choose to wait and see if baby flips at the last.minute, that's what I'm planning to do x

How helpful of him!
There are loads of things you can do. As others have said, spinningbabies is a great website and worked for me. Also, there is loads of videos on YouTube to help. As a general rule of thumb, keep your bum above your heart (ie on all fours with your bum in the air and head to the ground, or kneeling on the sofa with your hands on the floor)

Just wanted to update.. Went to my mw yesterday and baby is no longer breech so I believe all the exercises etc helped...good luck with getting baby turned x

Thank you all <3 I can still feel his head up by my chest :( He's in the same spot. I can still feel movements but he won't turn around. If he still doesn't turn down, I'm going for C-section (well I'm ringing up my doctor to let him know, that I don't want any ecv).

I really don't want ecv (after reading some reviews) it is only 50-50 chance?? that is pretty low! I hear it is quite painful too. I'm already in pain here, he's pushing on my nerves & making me do the jerk walk whenever I feel pain coming in, lol.

Maybe he'll turn down :/ We shall see!

For me personally, a 50% chance of not getting a CS sounds well worth it but you have the right to refuse any medical procedure you want, it's basic human rights. I think the doctors will be understanding about it though.

I wouldnt worry just yet, althouh your LO is cutting it fine! This isnt your first baby and my MW said to me that after the first baby, there is more room in there to move around so it can take longer for them to settle head down. My third baby moved at 38 weeks so you still have a chance. Some wait until labour!
Definetely look at the spinningbabies website though and start doing their exercises!
