My dog :(

My beautiful Pug is being PTS next Friday, so I have a week to say goodbye. I am heartbroken. I haven't been able to deal with any of it, so my sister has been talking to the vet, she had to book him in for next Friday, the vet said we really can't leave it much longer because his tumour is in his blood vessels and they are multiplying fast and he will just bleed to death.

I know it is the right thing for him but it is killing me, I am not ready to lose him, he is my beautiful boy.

I really wanted him to meet Scarlett, I just feel like I am replacing him now with my new life with Scarlett when all I wanted was for him to be part of it with us.

Really hope I can stay strong. My sister and BIL are taking us down there and it will take place in the back of his car where Victor will feel more relaxed, so he doesn't have to go into the surgery. His best friend, my sister's dog had to go through the same thing in November, he had it in the back of the car too and it was peaceful, he just fell asleep.

Doesn't make it any easier but my sister only had one night to prepare herself, I will have to make the most of this week with him. It just upsets me that he is so mentally well, but physically he is deteriorating fast.

Thank you. I know it is the right thing, for him, but it is so painful. I can't stop crying. I am just thankful for the 9 wonderful years he has given me, we have done so much together. He even came on holiday with us. I love him so much.

Im crying here reading your thread. Its so sad cos we get so attched to our pets and i bet its even worse counting down the days with him

Try yand be strong for him. Ater all he knows no different and of course its the best option for him before he suffers. Lots of hugs for him and make lots of memories in the next few days.

sorry to hear your news, we lost our cat to cancer last year and it was horrible, had to have him PTS as well. It is the kindest thing that you can do for them, it's just so sad for you and your family. Hope that you have a very special last week with him

im sorry your going through this, i know how you feel. Make the most of the time your sweet little dog has left, lots of hugs and kisses for him. I know how difficult it is to get a pet put to sleep, but i always think that seeing them in pain is also just as heartbreaking. Thinking of you x

Im feeling you pain x I had to say goodbye to my dog after 8 years of her being part of our family. She didnt die but we had to get her rehomed as she didnt like my son when he was born and we were frightened for his safety.
Its not that she was a nasty dog we had her 12 months before we had our first baby and she has always been great with her.

I believe everything in life happens for a reason and please dont feel like ur replacing your dog, your just starting a new chapter of life.
Its his time to grow angel wings it sounds like he is loved very much and you have a lovely chance to say goodbye x x

Oh babe! I'm sobbing reading your post., I had to have my Mollie PTS last year and it was heartbreaking. But it would have been cruel to leave her any longer, she was is in agony.

It will be so hard to get through, but don't ever forget that you are doing the best thing!

To him, it will just be like going into a beautiful, deep sleep, then there will be no more pain.

I'm so sorry about your sweet dog Its hard because as much as they are animals they are also part of our families and part of our hearts and it hurts when they hurt.
We have a 12 year old lab mix and I keep hoping will get to meet our little bean .. I know my OH isnt ready to lose him yet but he's not eating well etc and it's only a matter of time now.

It is so heartbreaking that they don't live as long as we do.
