im gutted, my mum has been saying for ages that archies testes werent in the right place. i just thought they were bobbing around as they do and disappearing when you looked for them

i had a word with the h.v last week who said they were stuck in his groin and referred me straight to the g.p. saw the gp today and shes referred him straight to a urologist and said he will need to have them stitched down

she also noted she had no record of his testes being examined at his 8 week check and it should have been picked up then. i came home and checked his red book and SHE did his 8 week checkup and marked his testes as normal :dohh:

reading up on it now im devastated boys who have 2 undecended testes have a much higher instance of infertility, tesicular cancer and lots of other issues

i just feel bad that ive not picked up on this quicker

Huge hugs. Our neighbour had this, and it wasnt sorted until he was in his teens! (appallingly) He is seems to be very fertile- they have had two little girls within a month of trying. Hope the op goes ok x

thank you for this

Big hugs :hugs: At least it has been picked up now, and hopefully you'll get a date through quickly :hugs:

so are his always up? im so sorry you have to go through this :hugs:

:hugs: poor Archie and poor you. Hope you can get the operation over and done with before no.5 comes along x

yeah theyre stuck up in is groin and the bit over his willy is swollen because theyre there, his little sack is tiny and shrivelled
youd think id have noticed it having 4 boys but it was 9 years between kai and archie so id forgotten what a 'normal' baby scrotum was supposed to look like

oh i see, i started panicking then because my sons go up too! its not your fault hun :hugs:

I reckon they all look different anyway! And A's looks different all the time and he's just 1 boy. it's hard to tell what's normal, the professionals can't even do it as you've found out with that GP!

do they just go up when hes cold?? as there is something called retractable testicle where they are kind of on elastic iykwim and they bob up and down at will my little brother had this and they like to keep an eye on it, it might be worthwhile popping to the hv

if its just when hes cold or if youre looking for them its normal though :) xx

my brother had this happen to him twice at a very young age then at about 4 ,nowt to worry bout its pretty common x

I'm so sorry you are going through this. It's really awful that it wasn't picked up sooner, it really should have been at his 8 week check.
I'm sure Archie will come out of this happy as larry, and be fine. I would go to your doctor and ask for statistics of the issues that could arise from undescended testes, if you're googling then you know it always comes out with the worst case scenario.
Give Archie and yourself a big hug from us! :hugs:

my pap had this. never had the operation ... had 4 children with no problems and lived til he was 86. never any problems (ie cancer or such):hugs:

Oh hun, try not to worry and dont beat yourself up. you noticed it and he is getting the operation that he needs. But I can understand how you feel, Jack has had the same operation when he was just under 3, but just on 1 testical .... like Archie, Jack's was bobbing up and down from the groin from being born (even though the doc who checked him on the ward did not notice :growlmad: it was actually when I took him to get checked for another reason that the doc noticed but said because he could feel the testical high up he would give it chance to come down on its own, they like to do the Op before the age of 3. So by the time it was coming up to his 3rd Birthday it was still in his groin so he had to have to operation to bring it down and stitch it in place. It Was fine, its not nice seeing them in pain or going under an Anesthetic but Jack coped fantastic
and the op only lasted 30 mins and he woke up in a bit of pain but after several Tuna sandwiches and some Jelly he was fine and running around again :D
But I remember how upset and confused I was when I was 1st told :(
He will be fine hun. PM me if you wantto ask anything and I may be able to tell you :hugs: xx

Hope the op goes ok! Its not your fault. Whoever did his 8 week check should be told of their mistake! :hugs:
