Hi girls!! 
Well, FINALLY......my little man Owen has arrived safe and sound on Friday 19th march at 23:31 with a wonderful weight of 8lb 1oz! Which is not bad for being 12 days late!
My contractions started about 1am on friday and then finally went into hospital about 6.30am thinking my waters were leaking, got examined but turned out i was only 4cm dialated and it wasnt my waters but they wanted to keep me in, so i happily sat bouncing away on my birthing ball with the radio on and my tens machine with my partner and mum, got examined again about 10am, turned out i was still the same at 4cm, so then i was determined to get this baby moving,so i got myself walking up and down the hospital corridors for a good 2hours, went back into my delivery room and got examined AGAIN at 1.30pm, and to my horror- I WAS STILL 4CM!!!!
After a few midwives coming in to have a look,feel and prod at my belly, they then told me that my little man had turned back to back!!!!!
I broke down in tears!!!!
(My daughter was back to back, i ended up being in labour for 49hrs)
So then we knew it was going to be a long day/night!
They decided to put me onto the ward as the delivery suite was getting busy, got to the ward about 2.30pm,so after getting myself together and thinking to myself "just deal with it and get on with it", i sat bouncing on my ball with the tens machine on (god send),all my pain was in my back!
When i originally got onto the ward they said they would then examing me at 6.30pm,which was fine. It got to about 7pm and no one had been to check on me and the contractions at this stage were STRONG and although i had my TENS i wanted something more, my partner kindly asked a midwife if we could see her, she agreed and came 10mins later.
When the midwife came, she refused to examing me because she "thought" i still "LOOKED" the same as the afternoon! she said she thought i was coping with the pain "just fine", then dissappeared!
My OH an mum were fuming!!! my OH went back to the desk and asked kindly but firmly that i was tired and was struggleing with the pain and i wanted some pain relief, se refused to give me any becasue she said i wasnt in established labour! She even said i could go home!!!
My partner refused to take me home becasue i knew there wasnt something quite right, the pressure i could feel down below was UNREAL!!
The night shift staff then came on, a midwife popped her head round the curtain and asked if we were ok, my OH explained that i hadnt been examined since the afternoon and was refused pain relief, so the midwife then went and got the head midwife, the head midwife said to get into the bath to see if it helps,if not, she would get me some pethidine so i could get some sleep, and i was more than happy to do that.
So the bath was run, and my OH and mum were helping me into the bath, my bum had literally touched the water and a contraction came and OH MY GOD!!! the urge to push all of a sudden came!! "I NEED TO PUSH" I shouted to my mum and OH, my mum ran out of the bathroom and got the midwife, midwife came running in and tried to look between my legs but couldnt see, so i got lifted out the bath and walked to my bed in the ward bay TOTALLY NAKED!!! (there were 3 other women in the bay that had come in to be induced that evening,so the poor ladies got to see what was coming to them)
Midwife did an internal and said, "oh my, your fully dialated, we better get you up to delivery quick, i can feel babies head coming!!"
So it was a mad rush to get all my things together and me onto a wheelchair and up to delivery, the delivery suite was on the next level up and down a very long corridor!! i ended up with 3 midwifes running me up there as they thought i was going to give birth in the lift!!
No sooner had we got into the delivery room, i was pushing, then my waters popped after the 3rd or 4th push,the midwife had to swiflty jump out of the way, but my little man had poohed inside me, so an alarm started going off that the midwife had pressed, before i knew it there were 2 or 3 other midwifes along with 2 doctors ready for him to come out, heart monitors were out on my belly to monitor my little man, but within 17minutes my little man came out with a fantastic pair of lungs! After being able to do skin-to-skin for a few seconds while my mum cut the cord,my OH couldnt do it because he is very squeemish and was crying! so he was happy for my mum to do it! The baby doctors had to then take my little man to check him over because of the amount of meconium had done inside me,they were worried he might have had some on his lungs but after him being checked he was perfect!
So after 23hrs of contractions, i managed to have no pain relief (not by choice really,only because one certain midwife refused me any,then it was too late for any) i only had a tiny tear which didnt even need a stitch, i was so happy that i didnt need any stitches because with my daughter i had to have 22, and they are horrible!!
But Owen Robert Little was born at 23:31, 8lb 1oz with lots of dark hair!
Iam posting this a week late, which i apologise for, this week has just been a total blur, and this is the first time i have managed to get onto the computer!
