Ok I NEVER leave him unattended on a bed/sofa or the floor for that matter as I am super paranoid. The only places I feel 'safe' leaving him is on his jumperoo, playpen, strapped in his pram or highchair.

Well today I put Michael in his highchair and strapped him in (his is second hand off a friend and it only has waist straps) and pushed the tray in tight and locked it, I was making a bottle (boiling water in a pan as my kettle kickked the bucket today:dohh:) and making dinner. Then I heard a slap on the floor.

I turned to find my poor baby face down screaming on the floor
I ran over and lifted him, I was shaking and he was crying. After about two minutes he stopped and started pulling my hair and laughing, so I checked him over and apart for a red cheek he seems to be ok.

The only possible way he could of got out of it is my pulling one leg up and putting it into the other foot hole and wriggling down.

I rang OH going mad as I hated the highchair and I wanted a 5 point harness one but him and his mum were like 'be grateful it's fine' I am sooo annoyed that I never went with my gut and got him a safer chair I feel awful.

I get my student finance on Saturday so I'm going to check out some new highchairs opinions welcome :flower:

Aww! Im sure he is fine. Its so difficult to find a place to leave them when we have to do essential stuff in the house.

I have a Prima Pappa highchair from mamas and papas. I got mine second hand but its really good with the 5 point harness and it also has a plastic bit in between where their legs go and the gap isnt big enough for their whole body to slide out even if he manages to move his legs (not easy in a 5 point anyway!)

Its this one https://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-prima-pappa-highchair-once-upon-a-time/464016000/type-i/ Its really expensive but i got mine free. Worth it if you can manage to find one cheap or can afford it.

You can get decent five point ones for like £20-30 in asda :flow: mine was £150 sooo not worth the money!

Hope little Michael is ok, what a scare :hugs:

Aww babe! :( At least he's ok. But yeah waist harness only is stoooopid, who would make that for a baby?! Mine was pretty cheap as far as I can remember and it does the job very well! Let me find it...

Oh no, poor Michael! So glad he's okay! :hugs:

I have this one. :flower:

Aw hun, don't beat yourself up, these things have happened to the best of us (well, they've happened to me at least! lol). :hugs:Which highchair do you have can I ask? I didn't realise there were highchairs without 5 point safety harnesses. I have a cosatto one but I won't recommend it as I don't know all that much about other highchairs to be able to compare it to them!

It's cream and mamas&papas I don't know what make I can't see it on the site, it was given to us

:hugs:
things happen you cant beat yourself up about them tho, good luck finding a new high chair

dont feel bad it happens to everyone. my LO can get out of her 5 point harness pushchair and high chair so dont feel guilty about that

:hugs: poor baby.. children are nightmares at getting out of things!! Logan seems to be houdini (sp) these days!

I am officially freaked out by high chairs now :S poor baby

I remember when Alex fell off the bed :( i was so worried but he was fine after I snuggled him, but then he wanted to go to sleep, because it was like 2am or something but I wanted to keep him awake for at least an hour incase he had a head injury.

Putting in a spoiler cos its upsetting
My friend told me that nobody in her family use highchairs because one of her baby relatives somehow wriggled down in her highchair when her mum went out the room (I think she might have been a twin actually, and the mum was dealing with the other twin) and the straps got caught round her throat and she hung herself :nope: I can't even imagine how that happened but must have been so terrible for her mum to have to discover :(

Just read your spoiler Anna

(Also my Oliver's in his high chair in my picture, it is blue with fish on it..)
